  • OMG, just received a hand full of letters from franking customer services with fines all for medium parcels by the looks of it, we don't send anything but the small cube exceptions with Royal Mail.

There must be mayhem going on in Royal Mail.

Obviously I wont be paying them.

It looks like the people that check franked mail don't know about the small cube exception.

At my mail centre today they have said that they are going to just work on common sense re the small parcel limit as they do not have a gauge for the size nor a tape measure .

They were basically accepting anything as a small parcel, the issue will be that each of the counter staff will be using different rules, so it is definitely going to he chaos.

They do frank them though when they take them in , so hopefully that will mean they are accepted as checked regardless of size.

I am still using my own system, 6 inch cube boxes is the largest I take there now, everything bigger goes to MyHermes.

Goodness, the time alone you will have to spend arguing with them is going to be a nightmare.

Bit of a double wammy to put the fine up to £1 per item (plus extra postage) and not train the staff in the new exceptions, I've got nearly 100 quid in fines.

Thing is, I've never had much faith in their checking franked mail system, because I send the same sizes all the time and know them better than they do, and so after this I have decided not to pay any more fines what so ever.

It's been £1 fine for as long as I remember, but I would be steaming here if i were you.
