  • Hi everyone, it's been a while but happy to report Number 164 is now at 47.5% - think that's an extra 5% since I last reported. A little bit of this has come from ebay sales, plus a tenner I found on the floor (is it horrendous I pocketed it? There was no-one around, so couldn't locate the owner), and then I've cleared the interest-free-credit we had for a mattress we "bought" when my wife got ill last September, and made an extra credit card payment with the money that would normally go towards my bank loan (finished last month after 3 years :D). We are also so close to being down to under £2000 of debt - even half a percent this month will take us under - can't wait

This weekend has been a busy but productive one - I have managed to get 32 items re-listed on ebay, and SEVENTY(!!!!) new items listed. Craziness. I was back at my parents' for the weekend so decided to raid the understairs cupboard where loads of old stuff is bagged/boxed up and in need of a good sort. I took out everything that was mine, and began the task of listing it all - lots of 80s/90s toys and games so hoping I'll get some good sales - four bids so far, have been checking all of today!!! As it's a first list and was free-listing weekend I decided to start them at nearly what their standard selling price is so I figure this means bidders closer to auction end, but if they don't go I'll reduce the starting price right down next time round. Unfortunately I didn't have room in the car to bring everything back so there are now 6 bin-bags full of stuff waiting for me next time I go back to the folks'!!! Probably spent about 12 hours on Saturday sorting/listing, and about another hour yesterday/today doing a couple more lists. Exhausting, but love feeling productive :T I'd be pleased if I could get at least another percent from this weekend's listings, hopefully more!!! Will probably try a few free listing weekends for re-lists then if my big pile of "stuff to sell" doesn't all go reckon we'll do a carboot in late May to clear it all, being debt-free feels so close I can almost smell it!!! I'm off work this week so will have a good look over the list at the start of the thread for new inspiration.

I am very impressed with how well everyone is doing - love this challenge - such a great idea, and a really supportive thread :A Thank you all.

  • Please can I join too? Not sure how to make text bigger, so I'll pop it in bold :o

I am going to tackle one debt at a time if that is ok, the first is a store card, current balance £318

My 1% = £3.18, I have made £14 in the last two days which is going straight in the pot for it, so I am at 4.4%, I am going to keep crafting and ebaying and throw everything at it that I can, it would be wonderful to clear it this month :money:
  • Seems like lots of folks have had a productive weekend! Nice to see lots of new folks joining in too! :) Once you know what your 1% is, it's hard to stop thinking about it! Being proactive in finding new percents really makes the difference!

I got lots of spring cleaning done and I've got a pile of stuff for eBay/car boot. Will be adding new users/updates shortly.

    Hi All.

    Debt 1 £1327.18/£6500 cleared which is 20.4% :j
    Debt 2 £800/£2000 cleared which is 40% :j

    Feeling pretty good.

Earnings this weekend that wont be allocated in real life until 30/04 but i will be keeping record and adjusting percents accordingly (Debt 2).

    Sales £27.50.

Got 9 things lited on Ebay but trying to shift things through FB first especially the local pick up pages since RM have put up their parcel prices something rotten!!

Hoping to clear out the kids toy chest at mums whilst she is away and get some things listed!

Got 2 of the 3 birthdays presents made, saving me trawling the shops and im getting much better at sewing, which i love :) I made a set of hankies for my grandad and a tote bag for my friend. I just have to make something for mum now. Im buying 29p cards from home bargains or card factory every 1-2 months which is working out ok :)

Need to sort the kids out some bank accounts as going to ask family for money for Xmas to put away for them :) Also need to find ways to bring my water/gas and elec usage down. We have 2 kids in cloth nappies and 5 of us living here so have ALOT of washing. Came to find my airer and i think someone may have nicked it (scrap metal folk) as it was propped up by the gate im sure  Going to have to get another! Washer, dryer and dishwasher are on daily!

Right off to sort Lunch (crustless quiche as DS who is 2 dropped a tray of eggs and loads smashed but the ones that werent all over the floor and just cracked were saved and used! - MS style lol)

Sarah - I stopped using my tumble dryer when we moved as I was drying about 10 loads of washing a week. Can't remember how we worked it out but I thought at the time we would save about £500 per year. But I now dry it inside and it does cause some damp/mould problems because I don't air the house out much. It helps to dry the windows down with an old towel in the mornings. And we're looking at turning our utility room into more of a laundry room including ventilated drying space.....
