Number of entries into competitions

This comp from Littlewoods had 3101 entries - 607 thanks on here, 1677 views....
Think that works out as 19.6% MSE by thanks, 54.1% by views.

A bit of a side track, but not sure if this was ever followed up on here.

Thank you to all those who entered the competition to 'Win a New Adam'. All the entries received have now been checked against the top 6 features selected before the competition was launched. The top 6 features (in order) for the feature match competition (C/OTPFM/019118) were as follows;

1. IntelliLink all-in-one multimedia system
2. Cruise control + speed limiter
3. Vauxhall Lifetime / 100,000 mile warranty
4. Advanced Park Assist
5. Daytime runnning lights with LED technology
6. USB connection

Unfortunately there was no winning entry on this occasion but thank you to everyone who entered.

What a surprise! As someone pointed out the odds of winning were 1 in 665,280, and even then they restricted entry to a maximum of 2,000 people!

There was a weekly Grazia Goodie Bag giveaway (£1 text entry) that apparently got " thousands of responses each week".

They don't give numbers but "With premium rate entry channels, Channel 5 is able to generate significant revenue per competition"

Winner announcement here says there were over 300,000 entries.

Thread is here - 849 thanks on MSE & 40,000 views but it was an "enter 24 codes" kind of comp (the thread is 6 pages) so the views will be artificially high.

Updated figures 34762, MSE thanks 466 (1.3%), views 1040 (3%)

Quite a difference to this one with a much larger prize.


Philips FB comp for

A Philips 40" 40PFT4509 Full HD Smart LED TV with Freeview HD

with about 14 hours to go has only 2750 entries, MSE thanks at 518 represent almost 19% of the total entries, views will have been distorted by several bumps to the post but are 1652 (60%)
