I didn't think social services were allowed to discuss case loads with anyone??
In theory. Just as the police are not allowed to leak things to media. Nor media allowed to break injunctions. Nor people allowed to break bail conditions etc.
If you have a concerned neighbour on the scene, a quick "it's best for the kids to remain at home" isn't going to be infringing confidentiality issues too much.0 -
£650 a week for rent of an average 3 bedroom? That's almost £3000 a month?
OP, what town is this in? What is the first part of the postcode for this address?====0 -
OP is familiar with charity shops in Cardiff so probably CA but I can't find a three bed to rent near there for over £508 and that's this place

It all sounds a bit fishy, like if you were a land lord of a £650 a week property you'd let it out to a young woman on benefits with eight children....
Apologies for being bored.....0 -
Does anyone know if the benefit cap includes housing costs or is it just other benefits and housing/rent on top?Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0

https://www.gov.uk/benefit-cap
This only applies to four London boroughs from April, it includes all sorts of benefits
Wish OP would clarify which postcode this is.
OP does seem to be from Cardiff and the benefits cap doesn't apply there till later this year, so someone is telling porkies here0 -
Looks like the Cardiff area to me too and to be honest for £650 per week id want at least a street to myself.Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0

I think you need to contact Children's Social Care if you are concerned for the children - lack of food and mother's verbal abuse is tantamount to neglect/emotional abuse.
Sorry, just seen your other posts which state that Social Services are currently involved. The problem is that they may not be aware of what is going on in the family home, could you contact them when any new concerns arise and if you see the children wandering the streets late at night then call the Police, who will then inform SSD as a matter of course.Thrifty Till 50 Then Spend Till the End
You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time but you can never please all of the people all of the time0 -
no it isn't - in London or Cambridge where I am that's a room in a houshare, you'd really struggle to get a 1-bed flat, 3-bed £1000k + probably £1200k+£650 per week for a three bed house is pretty steep.
sorry editting - thought it was per month - per week yes only in London and completely ridiculous0 -
