Mobile for elderly person
I need to get a new mobile for my Mum,she's 85. If at all possible one that only makes and receives calls...is there such a thing?
I've had a good look around but they all seem to do texts/camera/torch etc. A few have an SOS button but that would confuse her. Any suggestions gratefully received.

>> Big Button Mobile Phones for the elderly - any recommendations?
IMO, this one is the best for 85 if 4 numbers to call to are sufficient:
However Doro phones are not cheap. And this one does have SOS button, although I think it's you who has to program it.0 -

Doro just announced/released new phones so the EasyPhone 610GSM should be cheap(er) soon, if not already.0

Thank you Badunkadunk..will look out for that too. She has got a really old wee alcatel but she cant hear it ring if it's in her bag and struggles to see the tiny buttons on it now. Very grateful for everyone's help0

£35 at ASDA for the (simpler) 505:

If you're feeling Blue Peter you could set speed-dials 1-3, 4-6 and 7-9 each the same and then put a large sticker/label over all 3 keys with the name on.0 -
You know what Badunkadunk...that idea could be the winner !0

Does anyone else find it strange that you see some real fancy phones these days with all the latest bells and gizmo's for less than a tenner, even free sometimes. But if you want something dead simple that's just a phone with big buttons you have to pay more.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.

Age UK have recently started selling phones for elderly people

It's worth noting that the sim card is non-removable, the tariffs they offer are rubbish and there is no PAYG option. Daylight robbery under a charity umbrella IMHO.0
