Possibly not the right place for this question.....
I am being called daily by these people. Each call has the same pattern,, they ask me to confirm my address (which I decline) and therefore they say they cannot talk to me without it. They say they have written to me but I have received no such letter.
Do you think there is high risk in giving this information? I am quite curious to know exactly why such a Company should be chasing me.

Are they asking for you by name?

They're probably fishing - got a list of people with the same (or similar names) as a debtor and trying to get an address for one of them to try and stick the debt on them.

Have you defaulted on a loan or credit card by any chance. Unpaid mobile phone bill?

Chances are they hold the wrong address for you

One possibility is ID theft - they have the right details but wrong address as someone has opened an account and had goods sent elsewhere

It may be worth also posting on the Debt-Free Wannabe board.

If they call again inform them you will communicate in writting only.

No known debts but was concerned to find that they:A) apparently buy debts
    B) act for the inland revenue
I would like to find out what this is about but wasn't sure whether my position would be compromised if I confirmed postal address.
They have not asked for me by name but as director of my former ltd company

Just confirm your address and stuff then. It's not like its confidential information anyway.

Or just tell them a new director has been appointed or something and you are no longer part of the company

Is the former ltd company still trading or has it been dissolved?

When you sold/resigned as a director/dissolved the company is there any way that any Corporation Tax, NI or VAT could have been outstanding?

It still exists but virtually dormant.
Yes. its the possibility of an outstanding CT or NI liability which concerns me, although Acct handles all that, and has not alerted me to any issues. I will connect with IQOR and establish their interest.
    Thanks for all comments above

Rather than opening yourself up to a stream of letters/threats from IQOR, a better course of action might be to get in touch with your accountant and ask him whether there are any payments that should have been made and might not have been.
