If your Bank said to you we cannot afford to fund the interest we pay on your savings so from next month your new interest rate will be minus 2% so now you will have to pay us that percentage on your savings for us to invest with, & all Banks rolled out this policy, then you wouldn't be on the Banks side ??0

When the banking crisis hit Nationwide BS has a clause in their mortages that linked them to base rate but to pay for this they screwed the savings rates so we all had to take a bite of the sandwich. Move on and vote with your feet and find a new lender.0 -
Do you think this is the end of it then?. WB probably would not of come on board if we put up a good fight lucky I don't have any accounts with them, but it wont be long until I & many others will have with the other Banks that now have the green light. So yes that makes me bitter why come on here whingeing & do nothing ? I feel sorry for the Residential mortgagees as LL can ride the storm.
It also seems strange that many of the 100 who put into a Class Action got the reprieve with the rest of 1200. BoI wanted to weed out the so called trouble makers doesn't mean that we have to turn our backs on the rest. I would still release more funds for court action they need about £200k when you brake it down that's £16 each how's that costly??????
i dont bother anymore with this forum just came back after months away out of curiosity to find nothing changed,as one of the 100 who put into the class action and did not get a reprieve i would like to why not if they are getting rid of so called trouble makers.0 -

Received an update from the Financial Ombudsman Service today, as follows:
"When we last wrote to you we said that we were actively considering our approach to the complaints we have received about Bank of Ireland's interest rate changes. Our initial investigations suggest that there may be a range of outcomes, as consumers will have been affected by this issue in different ways.
We have requested and reviewed details which Bank of Ireland provided us. However, we still need some further information about the complex issues involved. We will be requesting this additional documentation from the bank shortly. We are hopeful this will not take too much longer and appreciate your patience while we are looking into this matter."0 -

Consumer Rights bill, BofI are criticising an endorsement of the idea that this might be the focus of a relevant amendment to the Bill.0
