Changing the mirror glass is a job that takes minutes.
Thread some strong string around the glass in a loop, pull the noose tight behind the glass, warm with a hair drier and pull the string and out it comes , the new glass, warm the back and clips in to place.Be happy...;)0 -

You said they were asking £303 and they knocked £35 off after you complained? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
No, they were trying to charge me for damage to the bumper which I mentioned to the bloke checking it out. Some scratches on the o/s of the bumper.
They are asking for £303 plus VAT which makes it around £364.50 I think.0 -
And the crack on the back was very, VERY minor. less than an inch.0

Doesn't really matter unfortunately. If you caused it they will charge you to fix it!This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
And I'm happy to pay their costs, but they have acted very shiftily from the moment I asked to see a receipt for the part. Their excuse was they buy them in bulk, and thus don't have a receipt. I asked to see an invoice for the bulk order, they avoided the question. They tried to charge me for damage I didn't do. They are dodgier than a £3 note.0

If you owned a new car/motorhome and someone cracked the wing mirror due to their negligence, wouldn't you wan't it put back in the same condition that it was before the damage happened or would you be happy to forget about it if it was only a small crack?0 -
George, I'm happy to pay their damages. But they are evasive and not very open about the costs. When we had the motorhome handed over, there were scratches on the bumper, a large crack in the fiamma awning, the upholstery was damaged and all the wheel trims were damaged. If they made a habit of restoring all damage back, then I would more readily believe them. As it is, I'm skeptical that they haven't merely replaced the glass or payed a lot less for the part than they are letting on.0
