UKPC Ltd and Zenith Collections

Hi there, can anyone advise me on this problem. I've been ignoring the so called parking "fine" letters from UK Parking Control Ltd since October 2012 with no problems. I got the debt recovery plus letters and the latest one is from Zenith collections dated 21st Feb 2013. Problem is the address that the letters are going to is my parents house where i've been living until a few months ago when i moved out and the demands are stressing them out and they're getting worried about the address getting black listed etc. Will these demands stop? Can i contact them to tell them a change of address without admitting some sort of guilt?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated as this situation is really stressing both me and my parents out

  • If you are the registered keeper of the car, all demands should be going to you! How does that impact your parents?
  • Yep,by all means contact them, give your adderess and then ignore all the begging letters. That should keep your parents out of the loop.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.
  • I am the registered owner of the car unfortunately both myself and my dad have the same name so he keeps on opening them!

Just redirect your mail to where you living now, costs about £15 for a few months. Go to the Royal Mail website for that. Can i ask why letters addressed to you are stressing them out though ?

And by the way zenith are the same company as DR+ , we expect them to be wound up shortly.
When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

Unfortunately he can't do that as he has the same name as his Dad. But there isn't anything to worry about here.
    Can I help?

Tell mum and dad not to worry it is a person who has a credit reference file not an address!

Address's can have an effect on credit but that is overall not personally!

However both DRP and Zenith can do sqiddley anyway!

You could get your parents to read this thread. Should help to allay their fears.

Zenith and Debt Recovery + can write as many letters as they like, but until they make a claim in the county court, obtain a judgement against you and you then don't settle the judgement within 28 days of the court case, it will have no impact on your credit rating or that of your parents.

That is not internet speculation, it is the hard facts.

They will stop writing to you soon and that will be the end of the matter. See my signature line for my experience with UKPC.

  • Cheers everyone. Its stressing them out because they are of an older generation and see the official looking letters and panic. In their mind as well I did break a rule as laid down by the carpark ie parking over the white line therefore the company is in the right to fine me

My Dad was of that mind until I asked him if thought that it was possible for a company to charge people for parking on land they don't own or have a lease over. His answer ......... of course not ....... the rest is history as he now knows to ignore PPCs for this very reason.
