for those who have the room, I was reading Prima today and a few women had used part of their own home to run a business, but this was where they showcased their work.
So one had a pop up shop once a month or every few months, one uses her conservatory to sell children's nearly new designer clothes, one uses old surfboards and cuts them up to make jewellery and other items. Then sells from her living room.
Might be something to consider for those of you on here who have your own businesses and ideas. it is the Prima April 2013 magazine.0 -

Morning everyone! Great listing and selling yesterday you savvy lot - well done !!! I have done zero listings (hangs head in shame.....) but we did go out last night to celebrate DH s birthday and I did manage to seek out and photograph 10 items to get listed today. Am aiming to get a total of 25 done today (8 are relists).
Well done on your sales Mavymoo - thats a tidy little profit!!! Appreciate you sharing your shoe tips. Will keep an eye out. Postage on some types of shoes is going to go up to the 5 pound plus mark in April though if you send by Royal Mail (as will exceed the 8cm thick rule for small / cheaper parcels). Not sure if will affect profit slightly, but if you are doubling your money anyway should not impact too much.
Right......finishing my cup of tea then turning my attention to operation LISTING ......!0 -

Ummmmm, think that would be me
Thanks everyone for the encouragement, whether I'll get it together to list today is another matter :rotfl: I know there's an ebay board and I don't want to hog this thread, but could I ask a couple of quickie questions here ?
What auction length do you guys find the best ? Is there a better day/time to end auctions ? Do you use a "photobucket" type thing to store & load photo's or do it straight from your computers ?
Well done everyone who's been cracking through the listings this weekend :T ... especially Mavvy, who seems a bit Midas like atm :rotfl:
Great to see that everyone seems to be making good progress this month :T

Hi GA.
I just upload pics from my phone or computer.
The professionals take pics on white background (sheet) and upload via photobucket.
My stuff still sells via photos on sofa/carpet.
They say 8pm Sunday evening is best time to sell. I list foe 7 days to give my items more chance to be viewed.
Depending on item maybe three days, five days.
Or some have been successful with one day listings.0 -
Thanks Aesop, that's really helpful
I've just been trying to read through their pages ... I think I need a stiff drink, and my head hurts :rotfl:
I have an ebay account (which I've used to buy stuff) ... am I right in my understanding that I have to open another account to sell ? ie, I can't just log in & start selling ?
Told you I'm stupid
