Before I go, I should have made it clearer, she will have palliative care nurses going in 3 times a day, for nursing needs. It's the times I need to go shopping, do my own house stuff and get a good nights sleep occasionally. Mum can no longer do anything for herself that she can't do in bed like drink and eat if that makes sense.

Thanks for all the replies xx

    Morning all

Thought I had better explain why I have gone a bit quiet.

After being told mum only had couple of weeks because so poorly she has now stopped deteriorating again, which is good news but unfortunately as the hospice is for actute patients and she has now plateaued she will have to either go in nursing home or come home.

I can't let her go in nursing home so home it will be but I will have to be there almost 24/7. Not really sure how it is all going to pan out, awful sinking feeling inside how I am going to manage but I will.

Sorry have missed birthdays tweets and midwinter. so belated wishes from me.

Big hugs to logie, and spirallingdown and 3dogs.

And massive thanks to Iamsohappy for the BS glitch all 5 of my orders arrived complete this morning. I see couple of posters thanked me for the glitch so wanted to put the record straight, not my find.

By the way David, if you are nice to me I might send you something to give Mrs David. seeing as you didn't get yours and have been cheering me up on the late shift.
Ok will have to break the gagging order for Stubby ;)
Dont do nice :rotfl:so keep it :p

Probably already been said but surely you must get some help/
respite or whatever it is called.
Family ? sort out a roster get them working, would need a stick of dynamite to get mine doing anything mind.
Supposed to be in their prime work/school eat gym eat sleep eat sleep

Unfortunately this one doesn't, it is mainly geared to end of life and pain control. And now her pain is under control has needed nothing extra for around 4 days and now that is classed as being stable. Her appetite is very good now too. They may have kept her a bit longer but she mentioned going home so that has speeded things up. She is confused but they tell me she has stated to 2 doctors now that is her wishes. Trouble is she still thinks she will be stronger at home and does not really realise the consequences. Still even if she had not mentioned it she would have had to leave at some point so only postponing the inevitable.

Just going down for results of blood tests which hopefully should confirm a clearer prognosis, then I can decided definitely if I am doing the right thing. Might sound hard but I know I could not sustain another year but if say 6 months then yes. I must sound quite cold for feeling that way. But such a rollercoaster of being told couple months left then couple of weeks and now I'm not sure.

Jst thought I'd say as have others that it does not make you sound cold at all, just being realistic x

I'm glad your mum has hit a good patch, but it's a shame that she cannot continue having care in the same hospice:)

    Morning all.

I see T have got rid of their 4 packs of lucozade sport for £1.62 and are now back to selling them at £3.60 - £4.00 each or 2 for £6.00.:eek::eek:

I can't see that they weren't making a profit at £1.62, so that's one hell of a mark up !!!!

On a slightly better note, 750g of Special K is marked up at £3.00 - that's cheaper than the 550g pack

    HTH
Dont know if this is the same thing but 29p a bottle at farmfoods if you have one nearby
