tigerwhite wrote: »Morning all. Have shipped OH and DS off to nursery and work and its me and tigercub today. No plans to go out as its soooo cold. So I'm being pro active and selling tigercubs clothes on gumtree - all my earnings will go in a jar:D. Most of them were gifts, but are M&S or next and i don't know anyone having a baby so wont give them to the charity shops just yet...
Newborn clothes are hard to sell, everyone wants new for their newborn and as you say lots are gifts, so people won't buy second hand, we had loads of lovely stuff, gave it away in the end! it was a shame as like you it was next etc and had very little use!well gang I need a rant....sorry.
Last night we were ankle deep in snow so the boys decided it was a good time to light the bonfire !!
All was going well until we saw blue lights, one of our lovely neighbours had called the fire brigade.
They came and looked and said it was ok but when we went to show them the hose standing by it had frozen in the pipeThey said they could wait until the fire died down but because fo the complaint they would rather wet it down so that the neighbour didn't keep calling.
They were really nice and five of the six were going to leave it but one wanted to use his hose !!!
He put the water right in the middle and the smoke and soot came up in a plume and covered my conservatory.
My whole garden is now an ice rink and covered in soot, but the fire is still alight this morning....
as they left they said I was well within my rights to have a fire and had done nothing wrong but the road was almost impassable due to the snow and couldn't come back if they got another call.
Still fuming as same neighbour called police at 9pm when my daughter had a 16th party, any ideas what can be done as I was born in this street and have lived there since before we had a road laid?

I've still got the xmas card from mum & dad up - it's very pretty - handbag shaped white and silver
and until I moved in August I had a birthday card made by my friend up for nearly 3 years (in fact I might find it and put it back out )
I still have my birthday card that Jedward signed for me on display and that was over 6 months ago:D, its a reminder that if you put your mind to it you can do anything except look worse in a photo than the people who have been on a 12 hour flight & not slept
Weather report even I'm cold0 -

:(My beautiful pure white house cat:A of nine years was put to sleep on Saturday morning, totally out of the blue and a real shocker to us all. She was fine at 9:30am .. Giving me evils because I was using the hair dryer and she wanted to go to sleep on my bed. She took off in a huff. Then around 10 minutes later she was unable to stand and was trying to pull herself across the floor using her front paws only. Apparently she had a blood clot and there was nothing the vets could have done. I miss her terribly and keep "seeing" her out of the corner of my eye. I guess as a post said earlier we never really appreciate what we have until it's too late!
Thanks for letting me share- just needed to off load.
I know I've read lots of posts on here with people who are having challenging times and I wish them all well. ((()))
Tears now wiped! Time for a cuppa.
Aww, I feel for you, I have a cat and would be absolutely devastated if I lost him. Sending you cyber ((((huggs)))).0
