When it is up and running go here http://www.speedtest.net/
and run a test see what speed you are getting
Edit : you may want to try that speed test from a few servers my first was 18 second 35 from a different one

can i ask, what is a good speed and a bad speed?[/QUOTE]
Depends what you are wanting to do if you are downloading big files 8gb for instance the higher the better if you are just surfing the net as long as the page opens pretty quick that should be good enough (depends on their web server more than your internet speed nowadays)
I have no problems and mine tested between 18 and 35mb/second downloads.
I remember back in the day (was it) 56k sitting watching the green bar loading along the bottom for minutes to open a web page :rotfl:

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Looked up from typing this to see the fish tank that I was cleaning out was full  being filled up using a hosepipe :rotfl:
never moved so fast to get to the tap :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Would not be the first time doing 3 jobs at a time has not worked for me :D

    Xmas Saver!
    Afternoon all

Had a couple of PPs rejected for too few items ie less than 10 that I entered on the weekend...naughty Ts. I won't be emailing them though as they were smallish wombles with other peoples clubcard details on them :D

Just had an oline chat with viking regarding the missing nectar points - got the standard ''should be added within 28 days as long as you have fully complied with the terms and conditions of the nectar offer''
    Err..um...probably won't be seeing them then ;)

Shame as I was hoping to use them in Sainsbos double nectar points event in April, thanks to the OP on HUKD

Ipad does not seem too bad this morning and it works as i move from room to room. We have 2 main computers running, one old and one brand new and shiney and that sht eone I am working on.

    2 things
    - how do we know if we need a new Sky router - we still have the orignal one.
    - also we had new phone wires put in along our lane last week, lost internet altogether one morning. Should the new wires make things run faster not slower?

Friday got progressively worse and worse. Sunday was OK, Monday was back to normal running, today, getting worse and worse again.

Have you tried using an ethernet cable to connect your pc to your router rather than using wireless, might be worth a try and see if that makes any difference. It probably won't but you never know, and in my experience if you ring any helpdesk they will get you to do this anyway.

If one pc and the ipad are connecting ok but another pc isn't, it points more towards a problem with that pc rather than the router/network iykwim - have you run a system scan/virus check recently? Might be worth trying to download malwarebytes and run that, it often picks up things that other AV programs let through.

    Morning all,

I've been reading a book (free on Kindle today) about positive descriptive techniques in rewarding good behaviour. I'll try anything to be fair as shouting and balling is achieving nothing but keeping my blood pressure high - and I can't have that as we're down to give blood tomorrow. :) I shall let you all know how progress goes with DS1 et al.

Thought I'd nick (hope you don't mind) 3Dog's catch up post as it sums my smile up! :rotfl:

Wendyak - sorry to hear about your neighbour. I'd suggest you let them call the authorities whenever and eventually they will do the neighbour for time wasting.

3Dogs, Rose, Logie and TS - thanks for your news. Here's hop[ing things keep improving in your situations. :A

Laacaz - nice work with the wombling!

dipdap - I see you have a 10,000 CC points challenge. If you PM me I'll give you details on how to sort this for £60. :A (not £60 to me lol, to a seller of empty ink carts).

SD - glad to see the "beast" has been behaving :D

Right - off back to the grindstone (literally!) - have a good day, all.

so it says 1.22 on the clock thing in the middle and I then did it again, signal must have been better and its back up to 2.20.

    The upload speed is 0.51mbp

So that must be part of the problem, the signal fluctuating so much
