A teen's luck appears to have changed after a chance encounter with an Indiana restaurant owner during a 10-mile trek through ice and snow for a minimum wage job interview.
It all started on Friday, when Art Bouvier, the proprietor of Papa Roux, a Cajun restaurant in Indianapolis, was laying rock salt outside the establishment after an ice storm earlier that morning.

Bozo

I cant believe this bozo completely fails to prepare for his job interview, sets off with no money and no idea where he is going or how long it will take him to get there, and then ends up getting a job, a years supply of bus passes and international celebrity.

I think Dairy Queen had a lucky escape.

I despair of this planet.

I think fair play to the guy. We are all very ready to criticise youth for not trying and then someone shows a bit of get up and go and you knock him as well. He may not have access to the internet to plan his routes etc.

Just goes to show that persistence pays off.

All the sarcastic comments are pretty pathetic. What's needed is more strength in the face of adversity rather than snipes from the side.

  • A friend of mine at 16 yrs, cycled 32 miles round trip to work at a cement factory. There are lots more like this lad, give the young a chance to show what they can offer. He's now 43, and has done very well for himself considering his parents never worked.
