Aslong as you keep each package under £17 you wont get charged taxes - remembering to include the postage charge.

    It's only £15 including p&p now.
  • Thanks, I might have to order from USA/china... ideally I want used ones so I can resell and only loose postage/fees.. is there any good wedding seller forums?

Also I found this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Green-Edible-Lustre-Spray-Decorating/dp/B004PI80L4 spray on green icing..

Something you could do is make tissue/crepe paper flowers and hang them from the ceiling.

I'll try and find a link for a pic, but basically take 12 layers of rectangles or squares of the paper, and fold accordian-style all the way until you just have a long thin piece.

Tie in the centre, then gently fluff out all the layers till it's spherical.

They are quick and easy and look fab. They'd definitely add a magcial garden feel and just need to be suspending from the ceiling but they are so light it should be easy to just Blu-tack/Sellotape/pin tack them up. As long as you have a long ladder!

    They look like this:http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http://www.preownedweddingdresses.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/tissue-paper-craftsnet21.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.preownedweddingdresses.com/blog/tissue-paper-flowers&h=476&w=575&sz=185&tbnid=VUSiA_UoZ1pkNM:&tbnh=92&tbnw=111&zoom=1&usg=__rw0LWHLu0qH6sPIsbIUU3SsOiB0=&docid=qYngAQ6C52OhaM&hl=en&sa=X&ei=SW8uUdHrAYGf0QW46YFI&ved=0CDoQ9QEwAw&dur=2

Fabricland has 50 metre rolls of honeycomb parc that will cost you £25 for the whole roll. You can use this to decorate tables, chairs and pillars. As it doesn't fray you can also use it for bunting. I like Mason jars with tea-lights (like in Mamma Mia), you could even have a mini maypole if your hall is big enough

I think an arch is a great idea for a garden /wedding theme, you can buy these cheaply in places like poundstretcher and decorate for a grande entrance.

We had a surprise “Garden party” in a local rugby club hall for my brother (he’s a landscape gardener) We transformed the place with lots of Bunting (cheap to make & looks Fab) we also strung twisted crepe paper streamers from the ceiling & had lots of fairy lights & paper lanterns hanging about. Used lots of Ivy & other greenery, balloons tied in groups with weights (in your colour theme) Strings of foil butterflies, very pretty. We used lots of crape paper & huge block posters of gardens, flowers etc on the walls – very effective! (http://www.blockposters.com/) We also made 100’s of paper flowers! (Really easy e.g http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lXNeVq2RxFU ) These would be lovely for a wedding, especially if there are pillars to put them round, (we wrapped green crepe paper streamers round & pinned on the flowers) we also just strung them about. Our party was in April when the daffs were out so had masses of them too, but there would be other flowers in October to choose from.
We got lots of stuff from this website & found them very good & quite reasonable http://www.partydelights.co.uk/
    Congratulations & have fun planning!
Too much of a good thing can be wonderful!

At my friends wee ones first birthday she decorated a piece of foam and had cake lollipops coming out of it like a tree.

You could also do cupcakes or similar (ice them with a piping bag filled with buttercream them use sugar paste butterflies/flowers to accent) and arrange them as centre pieces.

Have you checked with the hall management that they are happy with you pinning anything to the walls or ceiling? Our local hall doen't allow anything to be pinned, stuck with bluetac or sellotape as it damages the paintwork. If they do it's best to get it in writing so that if there is any comeback you're covered

http://www.trysordy.org.uk/eng/ - you will be able to pick up loads for very little and the staff are great at giving advice and finding things for you if you tell them what you want to do.

We used garden trellis so not too much pinning up and covers a lot of space cheaply. Just weave a few bits of (free) ivy etc amongst it and in our case artificial white roses for Yorkshire and butterflies easy to get up and down. Do check on hall rolls we have hooks on the ceiling at ours for people to use. You can get the battery operated tea lights if you think there is a fire hazard. Also wind icy round hoola hoops and hang on roof of hall with lanterns in middle with battery operated lights in.
