    Morning all!

Grey and cloudy here - planning a clear out, to organise my paperwork, cancel some magazine subscriptions, and to do a little gardening.

A couple of pen pal letters to write too.

Woke up in a bit of a deep thinking mood - thinking about what I do that is actually meaningful. Quarter life crisis hits! I feel like I want to do things that matter and that make a difference to people.

Exactly - too easy to get stuck in a rut but also easy to get trapped.

I want to do more and learn more - just don't know what and if I am stuck in a rut at my age who knows how deep the rut will be in 30 years!

Sorry your still having pain in your knees Halight. I have pain in my knees too due to fluid retention due to the medication i am on for my BP. I'm ok going up steps but find it very painful coming down.

Thats exactly the same as my knees, can walk for miles, but coming down the stairs is agony !!

    Morning all,

Wet and damp here, got a few bits of washing to do but not much, they can go on the airer.

Did not get on yesterday, spent the day with dd, she was telling me all about her adventures in Africa, she is heart broken to have left the children, one little lad and her had a great bond, he followed her everywhere, she said it was heartbreaking leaving him knowing he had no family or anywhere to live :(

Have been doing mounds of her filthy washing, the orange dirt / dust really sticks to clothes, some of her flip flops have melted in the heat and will have to be chucked.

Roast pork and all the trimmings for OH and I tonight, will make dd some pasta dish, she really cant face a roast.

Hilstep I do hope your dad recovers well from his chest infection, off to see my dad today xx

    Have good days all xx

    I didn't have a very good night's sleep either.

I met a couple of friends after they finished work, and I had two Costa coffees, but it was too late in the day for me to be drinking coffee. When I went to bed, my mind was still buzzing and it was nearly 2am before I went off to sleep. When I did sleep I had some really weird and unsettling dreams which kept waking me up. I went off to sleep properly about 4am. I'm certainly not a morning person, so I could happily be still asleep now, but I made myself get up as there's things to do.

Just going to run down the Post Office to pay my car tax. Yesterday I took out a service agreement for three years on the car, to try and prevent more major bills like last week. Also, I get the services at today's prices. I'm committed to the car now until 2016, which is when DH is due to retire, when we'll go down to one car. So it should work out ok.

Then I'm dusting, decluttering another cupboard and eBay photographing, although maybe the photography will have to wait to another day, as the light is so bad.

    Shepherd's pie for dinner tonight.

    Take care everyone

    Morning all,

Big hugs for those not sleeping and in pain x
hillstep, redruby hope your dads are ok
NLJ sorry to hear about your son, hope things settle down

I'm out and about today. Have a few errands to run and then off to Yorkshire at lunchtime to visit mum and dad. They have a new hd box they want dh to set up. Will have a nice sandwich for lunch and then be back for tea time hopefully.
It's mum and dads 47th Wedding Anniversary today so shall take them a card and some flowers.
It's almost the end of the month and not the usual panic about who and what we can pay, the new budgeting is making a huge difference:T
Have some eBay parcels to post and need to pick up some more packaging and envelopes.
Tea tonight will be something quick on toast.
NLJ I've struggled with my weight recently since I damaged my knee and have not been able to run:( I have lost two stone and it doesn't seem to be going back on but still would like to lose another one to be comfortable in my clothes. I find a later breakfast and an earlier tea works for me that way I'm having two decent meals a day, but I know it's more difficult if you are out at work. Good luck with it.
    Have a good Tuesday all J x

Glad your son is coming home.

Hug and sympathy for those in pain and generally fed up.

Had gas turned off all yesterday and as hob, grill and ovens are gas I felt quite proud of myself that I managed to cook potato and leek soup then pork loin chops, green beans and mash in Remoska and slow cooker. Gas turned on again around five so big sigh of relief.

Until it turned out that the gas supply pipe to our house has been too small for the size of the house ever since it was built by previous owners about fifteen years:eek: ago

Looks as if we will have no gas again all of today so will have to use slow cooker to make spicy lentil soup for tonight, the remoska for trout fillets and microwave for baked potato and mixed veg.

While house and bathroom is still warm have had nice long shower and shampoo, dishwasher is on and have a la leftovers to microwave for lunch. Just hope we get a proper gas supply tomorrow as last night DH was told to only have one gas appliance on at a time which was not much fun.

Hug to all and see you later.
