Than you for this. Just my opinion but I would prefer not to use a scraper as I have known them to scratch glass, so will try the other methods. Thanks for your suggestion though.0 -

I've just tried the WD 40, I soaked the plastic adhesive label and left it for a few minutes and it's peeled off quite cleanly. It hasn't touched the marker for all my rubbing and elbow grease though, so on to the next step. Getting there!0

if it's an unpainted surface you could just sand it down0

Thank you, it is unpainted of course but I don't think sanding down the wing mirror glass would really do it a lot of good, it would probably obscure the view even more?!0 -

Classic. :rotfl:
What would you sand it with a torque wrench.
And you had a go at some of mistaking alloy wheel ckeaner.:rotfl:0 -

I'm surprised. I use permanent marker to write the contents on tupperwares in my freezer . WD40 gets it off easily.0 -
Why didn't the garage/mechanic who fitted do it !0

Ambersil label remover, about £6. or 150ml lighter fluid, about £1.25.
Get a tin of ligher fluid - the best sticky label solvent in the world. As recommended by Ambersil :rotfl:
The OP could probably get a new stick-on mirror glass for not much more than that. It maybe an option for him / her if they can't get the marker pen off.0 -

A friend put the mirror on for me. It was snowing so I told him to go home and I'd clean it off, not realising how difficult it would be
I probably could, but don't believe in spending money before I've exhausted all other options. I won't be beaten by a marker pen!The OP could probably get a new stick-on mirror glass for not much more than that. It maybe an option for him / her if they can't get the marker pen off.0
