I'm up bright and early today to report NSD #5. I'm so pleased that I'm halfway already and will probably bag another one today as it's snowing and I can't risk injuring my recently healed foot.

Have a brilliant no-spend day today everyone.

....My Mum is of the opinion that all this getting cards, chocolates or flowers malarky is basically a big swiz in order to get us to spend loads of dosh needlessly. We have always been actively encouraged to ignore Mother's Day and the like.

    Am I in a minority?
Me muvva is like that too but is very gracious when presented with gifts, then whinneys on to me for days after about 'why did they do that! I didn't want them to..' & her very favrittist 'where am I going to put the ruddy stuff! More work!' as in dusting/watering/caring for said gifts.
Some of it has rubbed orf I guess, cuz The Offspring are pretty good at judging my moods; some I've had
over the years include a water jug filter, kettle, hoover (that was b'day, crimbly & MD cuz it was a good'un ;)) & new number plates as the MOT was due shortly after :p

Yestiddee was rather good with a scrummy roast (tend to cook them but eat cold most of the time, so hot chook is a bit of a rarity) & did some red cabbage with the veg. I have tried it before but never cooked it, so sliced it up real thin & chopped up a withering eating apple into the pan, cuz I had a (very!) dim recollection that you needed to add a bit of sweetness? Well, they liked it so another little dish to add to my repeortoire under the "You WILL eat more veg  " catagory :rotfl:

The rasp & blue berries did make it, with the exception of the obligatory tasters to make sure they were OK to serve ;) with meringue nests & a nice vanilla ice cream. I'd got a couple of cheapie bars of chocolate to have a go at making those curls but couldn't be arrissed & the potato peeler didn't work either, so bunged a bar in an old bread bag & beat the living daylights outta it so we had slightly chunky choc to sprinkle on top too :j

The day ended when No1 Offspring & I went to the [STRIKE]pictures[/STRIKE]cinema sin-a-ma--not flix any more! bad mummy! old mummy!--& Gerls! You gotta see this *BMF becomes cougar, then sneezes cuz she's allergic to cat & ruins the whole thing :o* Feelin' hat.hat.hat.o.yeha.m.m.m.see-ka! Let's just say my dreams were incredibly 'sweet' last night too-hot-to-handle-smiley-emoticon.gif

So all of that just to say no7 came to visit for muvvers day too :D

well, I managed a No Spend Weekend :D
    That means I gained NSDs #4 and #5 :T

Just checked my bank account, and nothing's gone out today. L!dl have an item in their Monday offers I was planning to go and get, but I don't desperately need so I'm not going to lose an NSD by going for them today - but will go see if there's any left when I'm next spending ;)

Should have been at the gym for my last PT session this morning (9am appt), but got a phone call about 45 mins ago asking if I could make it at 8am tomorrow instead - his little boy's started throwing up, and Mummy's at work today meaning Daddy needs to stay home..... not a problem for me as I understand the 'joys' of parenthood ;)

So it looks like a day of h/work for me

But I need to nip out and pick up a parcel first - just found a card in my mailbox that was left on Wednesday! It'll be for DS, but he's in bed (on night shift tonight) and won't be up until after they close.

And then I need to pull some meat out of the freezers for tea tonight.... choice'll be a little more limited today than tomorrow/Wed/Thur as DS is even more picky that me :o

    NSD#5 for me on Mother's Day:D

I couldn't let my dad pay yesterday so stepped in. Resulted in my sisters matching it so at least we split three ways. If only I could cook well enough to have done a big roast for the family though. Would have been perfect.

I am not making any comment about when my NSD 4 will be after previous mockers. None at all :D
  • Stuck still but never mind! Saturday I was up the town. Sunday I had to get extra wee something for mum. Never mind!

Hope all you mummies and step-mums had a fab day yesterday and were spoilt! :D

Hoping to get a few NSDs in this week coz I'm waaaaay behind target :o

    Have a fab Monday! :D

    Morning everyone

Slept very badly, so staying in bed with the laptop as so tired I'm dizzy. Will try to get up and put a stew on, wash up etc since sleep seems to be evading me for now.

Freeby just saw your post about updaters,

I could give it a try, shifts can be a bit unpredictable but think I could reasonably manage one of the weekend days..is that any help?

I think we all love the updates/updaters so its only fair to help out.
typing this in google chrome which doesn't seem to like the smilies, going back to IE.

    Have a good day.

  • A quick hello to you all & thank you to all the updaters. We are doing well on the NSD front. I have had to fill the car this morning so can't declare a NSD but hoping for more this week. Take care :)
