The Mad March NSD Challenge

Evening
Have only had chance to skim through a couple of pages....
ETO, sorry to read about your hubby's accident but pleased he's going to be ok.
Jelly, fantastic e-B*y sales there!
Hope everyone is well and hugs to those who are not.
Yesterday was NSD 3 but today was an unexpected spend day due to incurring work related expenses which I count as spend days despite the fact I am reimbursed.
The dreaded credit card was paid off in full on Tuesday and yesterday I called them to close the account but they credited my account with a non-obligatory £50 to keep the account open so I have, for now.My anti virus expires tomorrow so I have purchased another year (rather than renew which is much more expensive for some reason) and I used the credit to pay for it and to avoid another spend day tomorrow.
I am being good and still eating out of my cupboards but I forgot to factor in my cat's food so I had to buy some on the way home. I don't mind doing without to get my finances back on track but I refuse to let my poor cat suffer.
I am trying to work out what my next financial goal should be and I think it's definitely to get to the point where I am no longer living off my credit cards despite the fact I do pay them off each month. I am stuck in the cycle. After that I need to save up so I can pay my car tax and insurance annually to save the additional costs.
I am now hoping tomorrow and Saturday will be NSDs but Sunday will definitely be a spend day as we are taking mum out for dinner.
I am in desperate need of an early night as work is still flat out and I am tired. So off to try and catch up on what I've missed and then off to bed with a hot milk.
Enjoy the rest of your evening.

Got a few more fleabay sales ending between now and Sunday, so will report back then.
I'd booked a cheap summer holiday through the Daily Mail/Haven offer, so this fleabay money will pay for the holiday, travel expenses and spending money ... so a free week's holiday, in effect:j
The only down side is that one item was damaged in transit - a 1/4" thick solid ceramic casserole dish, packed with newspaper, double-wrapped in bubble wrap and in a double-wall cardboard box, which the Royal Mail still managed to smash into pieces:mad:'It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.'

Hello my NSD buddies - feels like ages since I've been on....it was only Tuesday!
Jelly - congrats on the fleabay sales....I'm up to £27 over the last few weeks on stuff that I would never use! I have to say I don't count days when I pay for postage as NSDs although I don't count it as spends in my weekly spending....hmm, would be a sad world if we were all the same I suppose
Finally claiming NSD # 2 / 15
I may have over-estimated given the amount of work travel that has landed on me this month but continuing to aim high. Hoping for another one tomorrow (not taking my purse to work should help! :rotfl:)SPC Member #112 :A Save £2k in 2014 # 160 :money:0 -

easy to install and run, totally free to use, including free upgrades. It's as good as any paid-for anti-virus IMHO.I've used it for years.
There are other free ones, too, see here

Is it too late to cancel the cc payment and try out the free alternatives?'It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.'

NSD Challenge: October 0/140 -
And today takes it up to:
3/12 NSD's
Let's see if I can do it tomorrow and get my 3in a row!Sealed Pot Challenge No 3060 -
Thank for your input. I last loaded the Oyster card last Tuesday so not going to count any use except topping it up. This is consistant with how I would treat petrol i.e. only the day I fill the tank or buy more oil counts.marmiterulesok wrote: »I would be tempted to count this as an essential spend,ie it does not count. You can't not go after all.Another example of this is that I personally don't count prescriptions as a spend as they're essential.
I wouldn't count using your Oyster card as a spend either on the days you use it,but count the day that you topped it up.You can't pay for it twice, can you?
If you're not happy with this idea, maybe try and make it a spend day and stock on your weekly shop at the same time or anything else you need, meaning that you only lose one day?
HTH.
I'm agreeing with marmite, Boss. I would class it as an "already spent" day as you topped up the Oyster card earlier, that seems to fit with your rules I think?
Hope that helps?

Just reporting another NSD for me, so up to NSD no 6 now :j:j:j:j
I must be seriously sickening for something... I keep visiting all my favourite online sites and clicking on things I like the look of, putting them in my basket and then deciding I don't need them... totally unheard of, I'm getting worried  I'm sure the spell will break one day :rotfl::rotfl:
Well done to everyone for all the NSDs nabbed today, we all deserve a massive pat on the back I reckonThe time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time
