I'm pretty sure I've asked this before, but I'm having my BT line switched tomorrow and I am going to use 18866 for landlines and 1899 for mobiles and these will all be programmed into my phone. If I sign up to OneTel for free evening and weekend calls, can I still use my pre-programmed numbers or will I have to dial separately for evening and weekend calls to take advantage of the OneTel free calls?

once you calls are routed through onetel ie tomorrow, all calls will go through onetel unless you route them through 18866/1899 or bt by using the appropriate code.

    hth

edited to say sorry from tomorrow your calls will go through bt unless you sign up for onetel :o

sorry scrub that, if i understand you correctly, no you would not use the pre-programmed numbers if you sign up for onetel as this would take you via 18866/1899 and not onetel.

Thanks. If I sign up to the UK Leisure plan what happens after the first year. Are there any special condition attached or can I just cancel the service? Couldn't find anything on their site.

sorry, my wording was not correct. I want to use my preprogrammed numbers with 18866/1899, but evening and weekends I want to use the OneTel services. Can I just do that by not using the preprogrammed numbers and just dial them withoout the prefix. Sorry to sound so dense!

I've just read Martin's article on this again and this caught my eye.

"One.Tel is a Carrier Pre-Select (CPS) service so when you set it up, even though you retain your BT line, when you dial any call it is routed through One.Tel automatically and it bills you for the call. There's no need to dial a prefix to access it.

So set up the package as described above from One.Tel*.

After that use this package for all calls to UK landlines in the evenings and weekends as they are free yet use call18866 or call1899 for all other calls (including daytime calls to landlines) as they're much cheaper. (Except directory enquiries calls, which are free on One-Tel)

To do this simply dial the prefix from your phone (e.g. 18866) and then you're on its system - there is no problem with doing this even once you've converted to One.Tel."

So this means I can just use the preprogrammed 18866/1899 numbers in my phone and if I sign up to OneTel, any calls I make in the evening and weekends are free (ie routed via One Tel) Is this correct?
