Which brand of white emulsion paint covers best?

Hi

I'd like to know which non-trade white emulsion has the best covering power? I've only a small kitchen ceiling to paint, so it's probably too dear to consider buying trade.

Thank you.

Don't buy the big 15L tubs of Crown that B&Q do for £15.99...it's absolute rubbish. We managed to get through 3 tubs just doing ceilings in a relatively small 3 bed semi.

I only recommend Dulux to any of my customers, but will of course use what ever they think is best:D

Softsheen or Silk, tend not to use the Kitchen + paint on the ceiling.

Dulux, just used a 5L to do a small room and thats even using a mist coat. Coverage was disappointing.

  • trade paints often work out cheaper as they require fewer coats. They are available in smaller sizes if you go to a real decorators merchant.

i prefer Dulux trade but recently had to use Dulux retail matt emulsion which is awful (it is also less white?).

I was very impressed with Dulux Trade Satinwood on a previous job.

For woodwork I too use Dulux Trade (Satin wood is a real favourite off customers at the moment) as I feel its the best on the market, but still stick with Dulux 5L tins of their standard emulsion for ceilings and walls. dont use the stuff that goes on pink and dries white or any one coat applications.
