I wonder do the parking firm used by Aldi actually fines drivers that don't park in the bays?

The Aldi near me has a tiny car park. There are drivers that park in areas which don't have bays plus the loading bay. It makes it impossible to drive around these muppets. Aldi don't seem to care about customer service so contacting them re this is a waste of time.

That Aldi is 20 mins walk for me so limit myself to 2 bags of life. Any more or heavier shopping its one if three others less than 6 miles - depending on what I am doing or where I've been

I am not talking about parking tickets. I am talking about County Court Summons being issued to Aldi customers who have received 'unenforceable' private parking fines.

It's the same thing - people ignore the ticket and get a summons. It's still presently unenforceable, IIUC.

Interesting, though, because if I understand the PPC issue, many of the companies have been reluctant to resort to court. I wonder what the Aldi contractor knows (if anything) that the others don't?

Supermarkets prices seem to be inconsistent many a times. I tend to buy same stuff week after week yet my bills are never the same.

I've been shopping at Lidl and Aldi for about 2 years.

Some products have not changed in price, quantity or quality in that entire period.

I am just wondering if anyone else if getting disappointed in the quality of fruit from ALDI? I have shopped there for just over two years, and always bought pretty much my full shop from there but recently the amount of fruit and certain veg (eg asparagus) you get has been halved but the price hasn't changed and the fruit is not good quality :o

I'd agree about the asparagus and a few other bits that are in smaller packs. Generally, I still find it pays me to shop there though.

There isn't an Aldi near me, so I have never shopped there, but I note that the motoring forums, here and elsewhere on the internet, are buzzing with rage at Aldi's decision to allow the company that 'manage' their car parks to actually issue court summons to drivers who have parked their cars for a few minutes longer than the allotted 90 minutes. This is on top of illegally attempting to fine drivers £100 or so for the same offense, some of whom are elderly or infirm, or are late back to their car because they have small kids with them. (There is no such thing as a 'fine' for parking on private land).

Just a heads up to those of you who drive to Aldi. This is a company, who rather uniquely among UK Supermarkets has decided that it will prosecute its own customers for shopping in its own stores. I believe there is about to be a BBC program about this.

I'd assumed that they provided the car park for customers to shop, allowing 90 mins per customer which I think is reasonable. Beyond that they would 'fine' people as they don't want people using their car park to shop elsewhere or leave their car while they go to work or go to a football match (my nearest Aldi is near the ground). I thought that was pretty common practice. Are you saying they can't penalise anyone for parking in Aldi's own car park if they flaunt the rules?

Two other Aldi's nearby don't own the car park. You have to buy a pay & display ticket but they give the money back at the checkout if you shop there.
