Only tablet with windows 8 will work with excel. (Not Windows RT or android)
I believe the cheapest one would probably be Acer W510.0 -
does it *HAVE* to be excel?
Android and iOS have good spreadsheet programs
I use Kingston Office on Android and it can open Office files. (they have a windows desktop version so if it can open your excel file then the Android app will do also.)
Unless you require specific complex functions that only Excel has then any tablet should be fine.Laters

Microsoft office is windows based and most tablets are Android or iOS (apple). Although you can use something called CloudOn with iOS, has been released for some smart phones, but does not seem to like android tablets as yet.

But if you didnt like the price of the microsoft tablets then you wont like the ipad prices then.
So as said above, may need to look at using different program such kingston office or similarMansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0 -

You can't 'install' it from the CD. 'Numbers' on the iPad will open Excel spreadsheets and allow you to work with them, but you load Numbers onto the Pad by downloading it from the Apple store.0 -
Windows RT does have excel.
It may have the same name but it's a poor substitute at best. The version that's bundled with Windows RT can't handle any add-ins, and it doesn't support documents or templates that include macros.0
