What tablet works with Microsoft Office (specifically Excel)?

I use Polaris Office on my Samsung tablet and it works fine with Excel spreadsheets. One by one the penguins are slowly stealing my sanity.0

I would recommend Kingsoft office (search for it in Google Play, I can't post links yet!). It opens and edits Excel files.
I would recommend teaming it up with Dropbox (again, Google it!) to help move files seamlessly between the tablet and whatever desktop machine you are using.0 -
does it *HAVE* to be excel?
Android and iOS have good spreadsheet programs
I use Kingston Office on Android and it can open Office files. (they have a windows desktop version so if it can open your excel file then the Android app will do also.)
Unless you require specific complex functions that only Excel has then any tablet should be fine.
No, its just what I'm used to.
I fancy a tablet & I thing I would like to do with it, is track my spending - with a tablet its "always on", unlike a PC which you have to fire up.
So I want to use my household accounts Excel spreadsheet.
The other things I want are a big screen - 10 inch.
& to be able to use it for a bit of web browsing, email & facebook.
Thats my lot really.0 -
I'd just buy a cheap low spec PC and leave it turned on if instant availability is what you want. It doesn't sound like you specifically need a tablet.0

Tablets, such as the excellent Nexus 7, are really designed for what is called content consumption such as browsing the net, viewing video, playing games, but for many productivity uses such as creating Microsoft Office docs such as word, excel etc you are probably better off with a PC, Laptop or even a netbook.
Spreadsheets for example in my opinion are easier to use and amend with a laptop as laptops have a proper physical keyboard, mouse and reasonably large screen.0 -

I dislike lap tops & net books. I want a tablet I can browse websites - probably shopping. Email & Facebook. I also wish to be able to update my household accounts spreadsheet, not create it or perform any calculations, just drop some figures in.
Surely there is a tablet that can do that!
I don't even want it for gaming or playing video or anything graphic.0 -

Apple ipads have similar apps that will allow simple editing of Excel files, as does Android tablets.
Maybe ask now for other recomendations of apps that allow editing of existing excel files, and look for recomendations of a tablet that will fit.
If you want a pennies tablet that is 10" minimum, then you're going to be sorely disapointed in what you get, what you can do with it, and how it feels.
Walk into a store, a John Lewis, a carphone warehouse (with tablets), a Large tescos superstore, a currys, or a PC world and play with the tablets there, and see if you want to pay for a higher end tablet, like an Ipad, or Samsung, or even a Kindle Fire. THEN come back with what you'd like it like. So a screen the size of the Ipad 3, or Ipad mini, or the feel of an Samsung, or a Goggle one, Write on it, try the keyboards out first.
Apps can be used on either OS, Android, or iOS, or even Windows one if you do wish to spend that money. Basic editing is fine for excel, office suite on ios or android is simply not available, so don't expect to be able to edit fully like a windows version with an iOS, or Android tablet.
You also might find other budgeting apps on whatever OS that actually works easier and better than an excel worksheet as well.
Almost year old, but this gives a good basis on things for 3 different OS
