    Yes, shower over the bath?

I personally hate baths, the last time I had one was when I was last pregnant and she's 11 now. Baths are essential when you have small kids to bathe though and if your house is a family one in other respects I think you'd be better to keep your bath in situ and go for an over-bath unit. That's what we have and it's ideal. Our first one bedroom flat only had a shower though and we as a young couple were absolutely fine with that.

We've just removed our bath and put a walk in shower instead we don't intend on moving anytime soon and if we do then whoever buys will either be happy or not . We've done it for safety reasons as climbing in and out of a bath that I never used, to shower was becoming a bit of a pain as I have spinal/hip arthritis the perils of aging I'm afraid.

Have a shower over the bath at the mo and the shower is great which is one of the reasons why I might get rid of the bath. I don't have time to spend in it and the lads never do. The bath just takes up elbow room lol

We're in the same situation (minus the teenagers), where we will be selling in a few years but need to do up the bathroom. Our bathroom is pretty small, so taking out the bath and just having a shower would give us so much more room, but we'll be selling so we don't want to put off potential buyers because of it. I'm not fussed about a bath, OH loves them, so we couldn't decide for sure whether to do it or not. We're in an area where houses are always going up for sale, so we have been checking to see what everyone else has been doing. Most people have taken out the bath so it doesn't seem to impact the sell-ability.

Sorry, that seems to have turned into a ramble, but I hope it makes a bit of sense!

I can't afford a lovely new bathroom so whoever bought would probably do their own thing. When my lads were babies I had an old house with a really big old bath, took ages to fill but they could bounce around in a rubber ring. Got the photos lol

No problem, simply a shower over the bath! Easy-peasy! :D

If our bath is used half a dozen times a year I'd be surprised. The shower is used several times a day. I'd do away with the bath if the bathroom was small but it easily accomodates a large bath and a double size shower. Personally I'm not a fan of showers over baths.

I wouldn't consider buying a house with no bath. I'd get a shower over a bath then you are not ruling out sellling to a whole lot of people.

Unfortunately there's only 1 toilet in the house

    No long baths here

another + for the shower lol

Only one loo here too, when I want to have a good wallow I warn OH I'm about to go in the bath so he can go for a wee first ;)

We've got a bath with shower over, I preferred it to places we looked at that had only a shower as although I have baths rarely I wanted to at least have the option. In my ideal world I'd have a separate bath and walk-in shower, when I'm looking to buy I'm going to have to try and find a house where I can fit that in!
