    Morning everyone

Hugs to those that need/want them that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x

Cloudy, overcast, and damp underfooot here this morning.

DH up and off to work early stupid early.

Now on first day of this week's holiday, so want to get going with the huge list of jobs - really don't want to waste any of the time, will go over to the flylady thread in a mo and print out todays list.

Dinner tonight will be pork joint that I remembered to take out of the freezer last night, will cook it in my new halogen cooker, will see how I get on with it.

I'm going to go to the next town today - to see if I can pick up a bargain dress for a dinner that we're attending in 2 weeks - need to find something and don't want to spend any money - that could be interesting then! Will take DH's spare car key and go to the dealer and get them to look at the fob - think it may just need a new battery but it doesn't work - so will have to spend some money getting that sorted.

Will put some washing in the TD before I leave then that will be ready to iron when I get back. Trying not to think about the list of jobs too much as I know then I'll get overwhelmed and nothing will get done. May see if I can get some more cooking done - but that isn't essential for today.

Need to get my hair dried and put my make up on ready to face the day - will try to get back on later to report how well/badly I've done today!

    Keep safe and well x

    Morning all,

hillstep sorry you argued with oh, hope he is in a better mood next time you see him
Halight sorry to hear your knee is bad, mine too I've been rolling about all night trying to get comfy.
    Moorhen enjoy the spa:j
Craigywv good luck with the diet club
NMLC I never iron anything that comes out of the dryer, just fold it and put away.

Brr it's chilly hear. Dh and DS have extra layers on. Ds2 arrived home safe and worse for wear. Dumped his bag and disappeared to his gf.
Have lots of ebaying to do today. Also plan on making a chilli.
Think my old dryer has finally given up, but I'm going to try and manage without until next winter. It's an expense we can do without so going to try and manage.
We have spent the weekend moving our bedroom around and making it fresh. Have spent hardly any money and it feels like a new room. Our bedside cabinets were very battered on the top so managed to get some table protector that matches and dh cut it to shape and stuck it down. It's given them a new lease of life. Bought some cheap bedding with my birthday money. It's amazing what you can do with a bit of imagination. I've put pics on FB for those who are interested.:D
Lots of items finishing this morning on eBay so hopefully will be able to add to the coffers this week.
    Have a good Monday all J x

    Good Morning x

I seem to have a tidge more energy this morning so have put a wash on and had a sort out of my mail. Will alternate rest with a 10 minutes energy burst here and there today.

Hester - hope work is ok.
Ruby - hope DD is back safely.
Hilstep - I have found that my husband sometimes gets very stressed, especially when he feels overwhelmed. I guess as carers they carry a very heavy load x

Hugs for a good day x
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
  • Good morning everyone :)

It's very cold and grey today and I don't trust the look of the sky to put washing on the line.

Plans to tidy and clean bedrooms today. Am trying to decide what to do with the 3 towering piles of books on the floor on DH's side of the bed. I am tempted to put them into the Oxfam bags but then I know he will come home and start going through them to find ones he wants to keep. Plan B is to strip the bed, then lay the books out on the bed and let him go through them as soon as he gets home from work.

Chicken thighs with lemon and olives in the slow cooker for tonight's dinner. We will have that with rice, yoghurt and spinach and there will be enough for tomorrow's lunches too. I have sorted out the freezer and there is at least 11 days of meals in there, my store cupboard list is made to stretch this out to further. The resolution is not to buy any fresh meat or fish until the freezer is cleared. There is lots of frozen spinach and sweetcorn so they will be featuring heavily in this week's meal plan.

Two books sold on Amazon to pack and post and more listing to be done on ebay. I am determined to pay off as much debt as possible this month and hit the 30% target by the end of March. Everything I manage to sell will go towards that target.

I managed to cut my hair at the weekend but never got around to colouring it. I will try and do that today and may trim a bit more off too, once I get those scissors in my hands, I don't know when to stop!

Well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those who need or just want them. Keep warm and safe and have a super day :)

Most people are only a few pay packets away from needing help themselves. But they never think of this.

    Maybe we need more compassion,

    Good morning all

Just going to run down to the post office to get the eBay parcels out of the way, then will launch myself on to the housework.

I'm meeting s couple of friends later when they finish work, so will have something like a toasted sandwich with them. DH can have the left overs of yesterday's steak and ale pie, so that's the eating sorted out.

    Have a good day everyone

this is very true Halight. Sometimes all it takes is one unforseen problem to cause total havok if you don't have any savings.

Off to work later. Had a nice weekend off with both boys visiting:)

DS1 worked on my new website promoting my art work. I've had an enquiry about a dog portrait so far:):T

We did a 2 week shop at Asda on Saturday - determined to make it last so cupoards are bulging at the moment.

WM is on. House clean just need to hoover

    Bed changed this morning.

Halight - glad you are feeling better:j. My parents were like yours, excellent and really took a big role in our boys lives(unlike my fil) and we will endeaver to do the same if and when we become grandparents in the future. My mil died before they were born but I know she'd have loved them as she was desparate to be a granny.

    have a great day all

    Take care x

  • Morning all :)

Off to the hospital today (colposcopy - not looking forward to it!). Mum's taking me as OH wasn't allowed the time off.

Dinner tonight will be a Mr M's chicken with bacon and cheese sauce which I can just bung in the oven :p

OS wise depends on how I feel later!

Hope you all have a good day :)

    Morning all!
Busy weekend here, lunch out was fun on Saturday, eventually met up with my friend's daughter and some more friends and stayed out, rolled home somewhat worse for wear and had the hangover from hell yeterday, which didn't get any better as the day went on, as DS had some tragic news, one of his friend's mum put herself in front of a train:eek::eek::eek: She has apparently suffered depression for some time, son is gutted as his friend has been a great support for him, so he has been supporting her whilst doing a power of crying himself, he is feeling the loss of his dad this week. Feeling a bit horrible inside, can't imagine how I would have dealt with losing a parent at their age in such a way, even though I was their age when I found out my own mum had commited suicide, before that I thought she had died due to some birth related illness.
Anyway, enough of that, today I will mostly be emptying washing baskets and ironing pile, and rummaging the freezer for meal ideas. Have a good day all!
    RIP Iain
