    Thank you :)

I've posted on the thread after having a read through.

I was planning on trying to get into the Hard Rock Cafe on the Thursday as they do an acoustic night, but the hostel I am staying in does a pub crawl... So I am torn as that way I would get to meet people but I cannot drink haha!

I am going to do the city tour and visit the parliment & I am going to go on a ghost tour one of the evenings... Still not sure what to do with the rest of the time though!

    So excited! :D

Hope you have a wonderful time - I love Edinburgh :)

If I were you I'd do the pub crawl. Meet people and spend less money! I can't remember if I have been to Hard Rock in Edinburgh but I've been too many around the word and they can be really expensive. ETA - just remembered you're not eating or drinking alcohol - so maybe not too expensive for you! :rotfl:

  • On the Main Street up to the castle there are generally street entertainers etc so you can certainly lose a few hours there - you can also wander round the outside of the castle walls without having to pay!!
    Oh and remember the beaches!

Personally I would do a pub crawl rather than Hard Rock Cafe - it's ok for a quick look but I find it really overpriced and a bit lacking in atmosphere.
Not sure what kind of things you like but if the weather's good then the Botanic Gardens are great for a visit, it's free with a charge for the hot houses which are well worth seeing. Also South Queensferry is lovely on a nice day, quaint little shops, pubs and cafes overlooking the bridges.
The museums (there are two massive ones together, the National and the Natural History) are good for a rainy day, or the Museum of Childhood on the High Street or even the National Gallery are all free.
I could probably go on for a while here :) Feel free to pm me if you want any local info or more ideas. Hope you have a great time x
