  • If that's all he wants it for then any of the cheaper android tablets will be fine.

An ipad is a waste of money.

£420 for a tablet.. errr no thanks..

I just bought one for the grand sum of £42.99 brand new.. OK its only a 7" one. But i couldnt resist. I wanted to slag it off something terrible.
I have a galaxy S2 already and OK its not as fast but it does everything most people want. And at that price who cares.

:D Glad hubby doesn't read this - don't want to give him ideas!! ;)
  • I have recommended lots of different tablets in the past and always make sure I talk about screen size first.

For older users, screen size is very important. The readability of the screen is one thing, the ease with which small icons can be pressed another. On screen keyboards work far better on the larger screens as compared to the smaller screens as well.

I cannot stress how important it is, from my experience, to factor in usability.

I would say that a 9" screen in the minimum.
  • My Mother, age 86 got an ipad last year and now couldn't put it down. Its very easy to use for a complete technophobe!
