My dear husband at the age of 76 has suddenly decided that it's now time to enter the technological world, and having seen his granddaughter with her ipad, has asked me to research the possible purchase of a tablet. I am therefore asking for the help of all you forumites out there to suggest what you consider to be the best 10" tablet available that is not too complicated for an aged technophobe to learn to use.
Yes I know I've posted it in the wrong place - forgive the old girl!!

You would be best to post on the Techie board.

Personally I would recommend a Samsung model - does all you need without the Apple price tag.0 -

Apple is probably going to be easier to use that an android tablet + If he lives near an Apple Store he can get assistance and go to their sessions.0 -

I don't see why Apple should be easier to use - my parents both have android products and have had no problems. Plus I'm sure his granddaughter can show him the basics, and anything beyond that he can ask on here!0 -
Just wanted to say well done to your hubby to want to take this up. Hope he gets great enjoyment from it.
Have no advice though as dont have a clue, I personally rely on the grandkids to advise and sort out any technical things I need to know.Slimming World at target0 -
Apple is very locked in. Get a cheap Android tablet - it's unlikely at the moment he needs any special features.
What does he want it for?Save £200 a month : [STRIKE]Oct[/STRIKE] Nov Dec Jan Feb Mar Apr0 -

Just general browsing, maybe some music and possibly banking, plus I would try and get him using Skype. Emails, but certainly not gaming or streaming films0 -
I have got an iPAD but I think for your husband, something like a Samsung Tab or other cheaper brands would be fine.:j
