Did anyone fly from liverpool may 2007 to palma majorca. The flight was supposed to leave at 5.30pm but there was a delay for about 7 hours. A plane was brought in and we got on our way. I believe futura is no longer in operation does anyone know how to claim compensation for this delay

Airline Bust = No Claim0 -
If it was a wet lease flight and didn't have a futura flight number you might have a claim, so what was the flight number?Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

I do not have the details0

Do you have the date of the flight ? If so, look it up on https://www.flightstats.com you may have to register, but it's free.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

Not showing on flight stats. The date was 14/05/2007 from liverpool. Think futura may be still operating in spain but not britain0

Btw http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Futura_International_Airways
Do you think it was a last minute substitution aircraft and crew?
If it was a 'wet lease' http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wet_lease#Wet_lease flight for an EU airline you may have a claim.
If it was a package holiday, who was the tour operator?Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
It was package through direct holidays. The flight that was sent for us was an airbus with a foreign crew possibly south american. it was so big that the plane was only on half capacity with the passengers0

what is wet lease0

Perhaps contact direct holidays/Thomas cook and ask them if your flight was a Wet Lease.
If it was a wet lease, they are highly likely to say 'Extraordinary Circumstances' caused the flight delay and you'd have to start a small claim to get anywhere, which could take up a lot of your time.
If you don't have legal expenses cover with an insurance policy/premium bank account, can you bothered doing a small claim yourself?Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0
