Or Littlewoods have screwed up again.
From what I've seen on these boards I'd be inclined to think this too.
  • Looking at this, surely for anyone to accept an offer like this, your account would have to be in a real mess and unpaid for a period of time. This would suggest that the credit report is marked anyway!

They surely would not accept this offer without any reason to do so?

I would simply complaint as soon as possible and forward the proof. Await their response (wait about 12 weeks) so go directly to the FOS at 8 weeks and supply them with proof, asking for negative data to be removed in addition to compensation for the inconvenience and upset.

But I'm not sure what you have said adds up -sorry. But I do know that Littlewoods are really bad.

REMEMBER the people you buy from are NOT the people you owe the money to.

So if one promises you something, they may not be able to because there are 2 seperate companies.

    1. Sells you the rubbish

    2. Provides you with the credit

I found this out at FOS stage.

I had a Buy Now Pay Later account which I cleared in full in March 2013. It left me owing 0 (zero) with Littlewoods.

I received a new statement saying that I owed a further £220.52, I couldn't work out how but paid it that evening, rather than incur interest. When I checked my figures the next day I found that they had mis-allocated my final payment (out of the year of payments, this was the first mis-allocation) and had added interest to the a/c. I rang them and they said they could see an error had been made and would arrange a refund.

A full week later and numerous emails from me, (only 2 replies) and another phone call, to be told that they could not issue a refund for the £144. overpayment until the end of next month!

    Any suggestions?

Despite sending all the details to this company rep, he and the company are still saying I will have to wait a month before they can refund the over payment (their error) of £144.00.

Can you imagine what would happen if the boot was on the other foot. Charges, charges, interest and more interest!!!!

    Avoid this company!

They charge £12 for late payment - perhaps you should do the same.

My account is in credit and Littlewoods keep emailing their stock answer that they will close my account when the balance is zero. Having read these posts I can see I am going to have to be persistent to get my refund.

They have now asked me to telephone them on an 0844 number to discuss! I have nothing I wish to discuss - and no intention of paying to call them. I have asked them to provide a refund or if they are unwilling to do so to provide a full explanation that I can take to the Ombudsman.

I have called them on the 0844 number. On 3 occasions they have told me every thing is sorted and the refund issued. That's 3 times they have apparently lied. They have repaid 44.00 but the larger amount of £100.00 is still outstanding and they have not replied to any emails!
