Judi......photos ae gorgeous....you must be so proud of your daughter, has she been there long?

Well, both daughters are abandoning me tonight....youngest has gone next door to sleep at her granny's cos she gets a double bed there!
Eldest is going into town with her friend to see a band in one of the pubs. All the usual warnings over tea about only having a couple of drinks / careful who she speaks to / stay together / get a taxi home...etc, etc. I'm lucky; she's sensible.....but, can't help worrying.
Oh, I've been very good......I managed NOT to say 'is your skirt not a bit short' !:)

So, I'm going to make a cuppa, find some chocolate and see what I've got recorded to watch.

Thanks for all the welcomes....hope you all have a nice night.

welcome dp1, my dd has been in Africa for the past 2 weeks too on a college trip, not as long as Judi's daughter who is doing wonderful things, my dd has been working with street children and orphans, she has had the most amazing time, well worth the two years of saving xx

Redruby, if your daughter is helping the children in South Africa she is doing wonderful things. It doesnt matter how long she has been there for she helped which is what counts.

dp1, yes i'm very proud of my daughter. Proud and surprised if i'm honest. She's never been the type to stick things out and has never really come over as being overly maternal but i guess she saw things that changed the way she thinks. She has been in SA for over 3 years now but only the last 12 months she and her partner have been involved in caring for orphaned babies. When i messaged her earlier they had spent the day fundraising. They made enough money to pay the rent on the baby house for another month. They are always fundraising. They get no assistance from elsewhere.

I just wish my husband (her Stepfather) was as proud and supportive of her as i am.

    Evening all,

Welcome DP...you will like it here.

Welcome Back NPM...take care of you and Asher...love to Noah

Quiet here to-night as DD2 and her girls have gone back to London this afternoon, had a text earlier to say that they had arrived safely.

Very cold here, we had light snow earlier, have not looked out in a while so may be still falling....hate the stuff.

Oven seems to have packed up so will now have to get the hang of combination one DDIL gave me...not possible to buy a new oven for the near future.

OH had left-over of ham, cabbage and potatoes for his dinner, I had a sandwich with salad...not sure what we will have to-morrow maybe some smoked haddock which has been in the freezer for ages.

Nothing exciting happening here, will go swimming in the morning if roads are not icy....or maybe even if they are, I need a swim.

Hugs to all who need or want one, stay safe and warm

    Marie
