  • Morning all, cold here but no snow. Had a day off school yesterday as I had a stomach bug, spent most of the day in bed but feel fine now. Will have a quick tidy and then I'm off out to lunch with DD and her best friend to a friend of ours. Tonight DH and I are off out with friends for a curry so a real social whirl today. Glad you enjoyed the quiz JackieO I love quizzes. I remember flour and water paste too, mum always made us that, worked well. Hope the girl's shoes aren't too expensive halight and thanks for telling us about npm I often think about her, sending her positive vibes.:)
Hope everyone has a good day and stays warm, hugs to all in need:)

    Good morning everyone!

We've been out and about to run our errands, and it's very cold out there.

There's snow from time to time, it's settled slightly in places, but not much fortunately. I don't like it when an easterly wind sets in, as we get air straight from the coldest parts of Europe! I'm not going out again this weekend.

I'm just about to tackle the ironing pile. Pizza for lunch today, and then I'll be doing some eBaying this afternoon. It's a free listing weekend.

Have a good day and keep warm

  • Jackie O No - I certainly wouldn't bin it! I should probably stop buying old books as I feel so responsible for them. :o Modern paperbacks just get sent to the charity shop after I have read them but the old one (especially those older than me!) deserve a good home!

    From Saturday - February 23 1952.
The other evening I was hurrying home and feeling just the least bit disgruntled.

Then, in the dim light, I saw an angel .... An angel with a bunch of daffodils.

She was a wee girl in a dark blue coat and tam, fair curls framing a tiny pink and white face. She was walking with small, quick steps, and looking up at her mother as she went along.

And in her arms was that bunch of living gold. Somehow that little girl with a shower of gold proclaimed a message of hope, and I went home feeling, oh, on top of the world.

Just realised that I have the books from 1951 and 1952!

    Good Morning x

Hester - praying for your little niece x
Noah's penniless mum - hope you doing ok x

Sorry but no brain power today but love and healing vibes bouncing your way.

Im still bed bound for most of the day. Its the best place to be as it is bitterly cold. Molly sits with me - she is such a lovely little dog. Poppy sits at the bottom of the stairs guarding the house but wont come upstairs.

Celery and leek soup on the stove for lunch. Minimal OS here but it is still in my heart. I just picked the leek trimmings out the bin, washed them off and chopped them up and put them in the soup whilst waiting for the kettle to boil. It is the little things we do :T
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

  • Hi all, not been on for ages but apparently Halight has kept you informed about baby.
I'm 33weeks and started contracting yesterday so am in hospital having steroid injections to mature Asher Alice's lungs and having meds to try to keep her in.
She was 5lb5 at 30 weeks so another big one which may be in her favour.
    Thanks for good wishes

Halight many thanks for posting re NPM - I'm not on Faceache so would never have known she needed some healing vibes, otherwise.

Busy morning - far too many errands in town, and I still managed to forget to pop into the opticians to make an appointment - it'll have to wait til next week now. Still, I don't reckon I shall go blind for putting off my eye test for a bit.;)

We've just had HM potato & pasta soup for lunch, with HM bread; needed something to warm us through, after freezing our bits off in town!:D

Enjoy the rest of the weekend, everyone.:o

  • It's an ill wind, I've just driven past our local butchers, people were queuing
out the door, a lot of people are not buying meat from the SM at the moment.

    Morning all,

Isnt it cold? We have a few snow flurries here too. I hope it doesnt stick though as we have not long got rid of the last lot. My utility bill must be through the roof.... I'll work out how much i owe later.

Went shopping yesterday evening and managed to spend half the amount that i did last week which put me in hubbys good books. I just hope he doesnt moan that theres nothing to eat come Wednesday/Thursday of next week.

A mini gripe. How come, as fast i declutter/chuck stuff away theres always more junk waiting to fill its space? Its a never ending circle.

Youngest daughter messaged me this morning. She has started to feel her baby move inside her. Oh i miss that feeling! I loved being pregnant.

Most of todays jobs ive been able to tick off already. I shifted my Friday routine to Saturday this week as hubby and son have gone off somewhere to play wires. Well i say play, hubby is doing the job and son has gone with him for a bit of experience.

    Jobs for today:

    [STRIKE]Vacuum upstairs [/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Dust upstairs[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Stairs[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Vacuum downstairs[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Kitchen floor [/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Dust downstairs[/STRIKE]

All jobs completed whilst the girls enjoyed a bone, which kept them out of my way.

    Jobs left to do:

Tea - Pork chops i think.

NoahsPennilessMummy, I hope all goes well with Asher Alice and the drugs the hospital are giving you are doing their job.

    Keep warm all,
