How far 'south' do you need to live to be a southerner?

Just a quick question. How far south do you need to live to be a southerner? I would class it as any county that is on the south coast (Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Hants, Sussex and Kent) What's the opinion ?

As a born and bred Londoner, I think anyone from south of Watford Gap is a southerner and all the better for it.;)

I live in Coventry so therefore am neither a Northerner or Southerner - I am a Midlander (unless I am having a snob day then I am from Warwickshire!)
I would class Southerners as Watford Gap and below, Northerners from maybe Nottingham and up.
