Can some one please explain to me how Sky took a payment from my Bank account (the balance was 0) before the due date, I have a basic bank account with no overdraft what so ever, There shoul dbe no way I can go into a negative balance yet they allowed sky to take over 200 pounds via debit card. HOW???? they don't allow me to make 200 pounds worth of purchases when I have no cash in.

I doubt it was taken via debit card, as it would have been declined even more so since you have a basic account. The easycash account the visa electron card requires it to check to see if you have available funds in your account (known as an online card or an electronic use only card).
If it was taken via direct debit and it was taken early, you can use the direct debit indemnity clause and claim it back. They legally have to inform you 14 days before if they are going to change your direct debit date.Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both. :cool:0 -
I guarantee you it was by debit card, they don't have a direct debit agreement with me.
Which is why I am so confused.0 -
So you don't have any direct debit with them for your services? Have you checked in your direct debits bit on online banking to make sure?Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both. :cool:0

I have checked my direct Debit page, also the code for the transaction is DEB which denote a debit card where as if it was a direct debit it would have been DD.0

If that's the case then I would speak to Halifax and then also sky as to why they have taken the money early.
What account do you have?Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both. :cool:0 -
I have the baisc easy cash account. I tried talking to sky but they have their money now and aren't interested what I have to say, the banks dispute line doesnt open till 8am tomorrow0

I could I get the bank to do a charge back on this transaction?0
-
You need to speak to the bank's debit card disputes team - tell them what you have posted here.
Cancel any future CPA to Sky.
The only problem I see is that if you owe Sky £200 then they will not let it go and you could soon get a default against you.0 -
Thanks, if i tell the bank they took it early before thetime agreed will they do a charge back?0

Simple answer....
NO.
There is no chargeback right for taking payment early.
What date was it due?
A CPA does not require authorisation, as such can/will go straight through, funds or not.
Any chargeback, and the only one that would be avaiable is a unrecognised 75. that is if you can talk Halifax into doing it, as you clearly do have a relationship with sky.
If they do, it will see you in trouble with Sky.
Ie. They will stop the service and may simply pass to debt collector to recover funds.Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0
