The amout is irrelevant, they've taken money when they shouldn't have done, going off the information the OP has provided.

You need to speak to sky and find out why they've taken the payment and what authorisation they had to take a payment from your card. You should also tell your bank that this was an unauthorised payment so that they can claim the money back from Sky until the dispute is resolved.
• It hasn't but it appears that your need to be right has resulted in your asking personal details which are of no concern to the original post. I may be wrong inquiring minds tend to stray but that's how you were coming across.

I am trying all routes here Lee the problem being when I call the help lines I am directed to online forms which take forever to get a response from. I have complaints in to sky and Halifax. I hope to be posting on here soon with a happy resolution.

If all else fails email jeremy.darroch@bskyb.com he's the CEO and the team who respond on his behalf have sorted a few seemingly simple issues for me in the past.

I think I'll email them straight away. I am not waiting round for a unsatisfactory answer from the standard team. Thanks.

Once a chargeback is actioned it cannot be reversed. So there is no claim it back till its resolved.
SKy will simply close the account, if its claimed back by that route or reject the chargeback and the OP will be redebited, while blocking the account.

FINALLY! A constructive answer. Thanks Shortcrust I'll give it a look.

So someone points at a google search, and its constructive :rotfl:

I prefer to tell the truth, as hard as it may be.
If I am told that a bill is due on the 20th and they will not collect it before then

So what date did they take the payment then.
Remember a card payment can take a couple of days to debit, so they may request the funds before this date so they debit on that date.

• I have lost count the number of times sky have taken my DD early and recently they didn't take it all and carried it over to the next bill.

I doubt you will get it back to be honest as it is owed however I would peruse for any charges you may have suffered at your bank.

I never had any bank charges thankfully and only complained twice, first time I got sky movies for £5 for 6 months and second time half price phone line.
Bad luck breeds bad luck.

Damn I'm doomed.

IMO this statement, if quoted correctly, is absolutely unambiguous:

You could say that, but it does not answer my question. As to which date it debited the OP.
OP said the due date was 20th.
Post started on 21th @ 10:39.

So it could well have debited on or after the 20th...
