Hiya,
I am also single with a 15 year old daughter so my accepted expenditure would probably be very close to yours. I'm at work at the moment but will gladly post my figures tonight to give you an idea of what I was allowedBSC Member 59 - AD 29th March 2008

Could you cut down on hair cuts? £15 a month seems a lot for a haircut. Could you also cut down on the food bill by shopping wisely and doing a meal planner and sticking to a list?2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040

From:
http://www.insolvency.gov.uk/freedomofinformation/technical/techmanvol1/Ch25-36/Chapter31/part7/part2/part_2.htm#2731.7.27 Hairdressers
It is reasonable to allow a monthly allowance up to £10 per adult and £3 per child to pay for hairdressing requirements, but any expensive hair treatments must be funded from the surplus income remaining with the bankrupt after deduction of the assessed IPA/IPO contribution.
BTW, SOA in the context of this forum refers too:
http://www.insolvency.gov.uk/pdfs/forms/6-28.pdf
'Statement of Affairs (Debtor's Petition)' which is a legal document

BS
How about £35 a month? Thats how much I pay, and I doubt I could get it cheaper. Bear in mind, not everyone has lovely 'I need to do nothing to it' hair!
Actually, girls, I'd quite like to know where one can get their hair done for a tenner? Is that normal or is this amount based on 1970s figures?BCSC Member 70:j

I was going to say, for women, it's not a £7.50 barbers job is it? I pay between £30 and £40 for my hair and I don't do anything fancy to it.:: BCSC #71 but now discharged! ::0

That SOA looks perfectly fine to me... Infact, show me a teenager who only gets through £220 of food and £40 of clothes (Heck of a lot more i'd imagine) !! I think its a really good SOA and your friend should be proud to have someone that cares so much and is going through this with her.
Well done disco !0 -

Exactly! So where does this tenner come from??? - it advantages men (who no doubt pay *less* than a tenner then have change) and kicks us women when we're down! No money, and we have to look like a mangled mutts because we only get a tenner to go to the hairdressers!!! What the *&$%???BCSC Member 70:j
