    :money: update time!

My debts at the moment are:

    Barclaycard - £10,725 – 0% until September 2017
    HSBC CC - £396
First Direct account 0% overdraft- £215

    My savings are:

    TSB - £4,000 – at 5%
    First Direct regular saver - £2,100 – at 6%
    HSBC ISA – £361
    M&S regular saver - £175 - at 6%
    Car maintenance savings - £180
    Friends - £1400

    The total debt is :eek::eek::eek: £11,336 :eek::eek::eek:

    Total savings are :T:T:T £8,216 :T:T:T

This means that I am £3120 away from being debt neutral. I think it's definitely achievable for end of April. Also, for my 37th birthday at the end of May it will all be done! Happy days.

Well done! The figures are looking great :)
    Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947
    DFD:Nov 22/June 22
    Mortgage: €199,712
    MFD: March 2042/July 2034
  • Im glad ive been paid! Definitely a good thing and even better, as had been in my overdraft!

The figures are going in the right direction, and next month is going to be even better. Truly cannot wait!

I'm off today and am having a day out with L1 - we are going to do something nice, maybe have our nails done.

L2 moved in yesterday, hence the difference in the bank balance. It's going ok so far, L1 still not keen on her, but I think she's really nice and gentle, also softly spoken. It will be alright!

  • Lazy Sunday mornings are so amazing.
I woke up at 5 am, I'd give anything for an 8-hour nights sleep. Think I'm going to look at getting some pills for anxiety - only that I'm not sure I can manage the first couple of weeks, when they mess with your body, as I need to do my long days at work. And can't really afford to take two weeks off, as need to keep them for study. Going to try walking and running, and then see how I do.

    Slimming world tomorrow, I'm determined.

Also back on green smoothies, I really feel like if I only put more effort into preparing meals, I'll snack less, also if I do more sports I will sleep better.

Money-wise, just plodding along really. Not wishing my life away, but I wish there was another pay day mid- month!!! One just isn't enough;) also, my lodgers now both pay on 25th, and I get paid on the 28th, so that's a bit boring! It all comes at once and then a long month of nothing :)

Studying starts again on Monday and I've decided to go for developmental over cognitive psychology. I love the psychology of personality and individual differences, so that's the one I can get more involved in, which should make it more fun. I love studying! Such a terrible geek. :)

It's an expensive route to fulfilment though, as it's going to cost me £400 - eek! I'm going to stick it on the new B/card, the one with 20 months' no interest. I'd rather not spend my cash. If the higher than expected uni fees mean that I have to wait another month to be debt neutral, so be it.

I'll have to start using YNAB again, and start using it not to record my spending, but to make spending decisions. New month starts tomorrow, so that should be good. Less frittering, fewer meals out, more socialising over coffee. I've bought some new clothes recently, so that should help with not buying much more. Targeted action.

Feeling a bit blah about dating at the moment, so that makes it easy too. Fewer spends there. Studying starts so that will keep me busy. Also thinking about getting in touch with some local educational psychologists and asking if I can volunteer with them - probably just do their admin, if that - or, failing that, loom for another volunteering opportunity that's relevant. Maybe a local brain injury centre for adults that I could walk to, or a local primary school. I think that would be a good thing for me too. Lots of positivity to be got out of volunteering. It will put my study into context too. I can only do half of my study day, but half a day is better than no day. Maybe someone will be interested.

Time to get up now and go for a walk!
