L2 has an interview tomorrow in a city where she grew up and where her family still live; think that I may be looking for a new lodger soon! Not a problem, obviously, though it brought back the question - is that what I want!
But I think I have got to go for it, and try to clear the debts as soon as possible.* * * Catriona's Credit Card Countdown * * * from -£16k to debt neutraldom - for my debt diary click here

You're right, Lou. Even just for 6 months would be ok. Just to pay off the debt and be done with it. Her rent is due 14 Nov, so this may be the last month, and then it's Xmas, I think if she accepts the job, she would move before Xmas, I would if I was her.
So a quiet Christmas and then I'll start looking in January.
May not happen anyway, but let's wait and see.* * * Catriona's Credit Card Countdown * * * from -£16k to debt neutraldom - for my debt diary click here

Another day, another day off!
I have updated my signature and going to use some motivational tactics, it's not long to go now!
Possibly next Wednesday or Thursday I will pay off my V card, when the lodger pays up. This will mean £190 less to budget for debt each month, as my mortgage is £140 lower and V card payment is £50.
In March 2016 I will move my remaining debt onto the B@rclaycard with no balance transfer fee, as card checker says that's the one I'm most likely to get. They usually give very generous limits in my experience, so who knows, maybe I'll get the £6k I need to pay off H@lifax completely.* * * Catriona's Credit Card Countdown * * * from -£16k to debt neutraldom - for my debt diary click here

Yay, well done on being half debt neutral, amazing work :beer:
How did L2's interview go? I think you should get another lodger too, you're on a debt slaying roll

Thanks Ena, i am chuffed.
I think the progress will slow down when lodger moves out, but ill aim to find someone new as soon as I'm able. Her heart is set on moving away to her parents and so it's only a matter of time before she does. I'll ask her about the interview, I'm sure she will hear at the start of next week. It will be good in a way!
Thank you, it is lovely not having to drive to work! Studying is less lovely though!
I went to shiatsu last night but got myself worked up in the evening and still wasn't able to sleep, but I'm getting better since I'm sleeping 5 hours now, not 4! Which is a bit better. Ideally I'd like to bring it up to 7 and I know that I slept so well when I dated a really nice guy last year - there was no anxiety at all, everything was peaceful and I was reassured. I need to find that peace within myself though, so will aim to meditate every night now.

So it is another Friday night. I'm in bed, dressing gown on and reading about passive investment strategies. Though I don't know why, I'm sure you can't invest credit card debt! :rotfl:
But all very interesting. Long term strategies to build up a pot for retirement.
I'm starving, but going to be good. Might get a piece of cheese. I wonder whether I'll have lost anything on my first week of slimming world.
I have ordered some chanterelle mushrooms and going to make an autumnal meal of a creamy chicken casserole with chanterelles. And am going to attempt Spätzle, a type of German noodles; I went to uni in Germany for a bit and it was their traditional Sunday dinner. That will take me back a long time!
In money news:
- non spend day today (woo hoo!)
- mortgage completion statement (draft) arrived by email today as well as a fee schedule. They tried to charge me £25 for a transfer of £145 to my account - thanks but no thanks I said, please kindly post a cheque. So now getting a cheque for £170. Not £300, miscalculated!
- nationwide have now advanced the mortgage amount to the solicitors and it's all set up for Monday's completion. Can't wait for the changeover! And to start saving interest!
And all that on Friday 13th! Phew!* * * Catriona's Credit Card Countdown * * * from -£16k to debt neutraldom - for my debt diary click here
