Catriona's Credit Card Countdown

Good morning everyone, it is Friday and we are all getting ready for a fun weekend on a shoe string!
I got into work at 7.18 this morning, so here's hoping for an early finish!
Today will be a bit spendy for me, as I will have to pay uni fees, but then will get access to my online module and can't wait for that! Studying is fantastic. I start with stats. Scary but exciting!
The new iPhone comes out today and apparently people are already queueing to get it! Not us though, nooooo.... We are too savvy for that shizzle.

The guy does sound insecure and lacking in confidence rather than disinterested. Hopefully he'll relax on your next date and reveal more of his personality
Ah, I miss studying but I definitely don't miss the expense! There's an illustration course I fancy doing online, but it's £300 and I think it will make me happier to use that amount to save or repay my loan. Good luck with stats! :eek:Rainy day fund — 210/1000 Emergency fund — 1019/1500

Thanks ABA, I'll have to wait and see what it is. He sounded like a genuinely nice guy, but he will also have to do something to make it happen, I can't do it for him :rotfl:
It would be a shame if he didn't, but it's up to him.
I'm considering switching my number because probably, sooner or later, my ex is going to resurface and I don't want to be made to feel all wobbly again, and emotional... I'm going shopping with my housemate tomorrow so may ask.
I'm not I a contact, so worst case scenario I can just switch.

Dating update:
Good update today.
Last Wednesday's date.
Not heard from the recent date. But that is probably only because it's a work day and there's no need to be chatting all the time. He's INTJ I think, which would explain a lot. Also that we would probably clash and he would be way too harsh for me, being a TJ.
Blast from the past guy.
He's in South America atm. Got a brief text from him. Think he has overestimated his interest in me too. I'm not upset about that either, as I was not invested in him. Though it makes me think I'm not very affable, if they didn't like me!?! Need to work on that.
New kids on the block
1. Next Wednesday's date. Interesting, chocolate voice and develops houses, so we could have a joint interest.
2. The Social Worker. Think he's an EF. Very likeable and effortful. date arranged for Wednesday after next. Think I'm going to like him and have a good time. Not sure whether I will fancy him.
3. The Activist. Seriously cool. Funny. Vegetarian (what are we going to eat!!?!?) Entertaining. Invited me to a Back to the Future night. Always knows of some random stuff happening around here and is very very local. Downside is he owns a campervan.goes kayaking and camping. I have been honest and told him about my "I love not camping" handbag mirror. He makes me laugh and is politically and environmentally active. Hope he's not ENFP, hope in fact he's ENTP. date arranged for Friday. Oh and he's a bit dry, but not to the point when it becomes tedious and un-relatable, and cold. He's still quite warm. No "x"s in texts, thank goodness.

Below three days till pay day now, but hang on, that would mean you get paid on a Saturday?
Yay - it's so good on the days when you do a bit of a shuffle. Woo hoo :T
Monday 28th for me, so that's 4 days away today. Or 3.5 if we are being positive.
Defo agree re curtain, sod that. £33 for me, and far less drama in my life.
Re lodger, I am going to write her contract extension, which should have been sorted on 15th Sept, but she's not there. In it I'm going to put in the amount and attach a copy of the original contract. If she does not cotton on this time, I will let her off, but will speak to her next month.
Think that's fair.
I genuinely think it's an oversight, she's a little bit like that, nice but never quite 100% with it. losing keys, forgetting purse in pub etc.
L1 is much more with it, but she, in turn, pointedly refuses to do anything at all for anyone else around the house. When taking her recycling out, she would leave the two bits of recycling from L2, even though she could take it with her. She even pointed it out to me. Completely forgetting that in her first few month I took all of her recycling out all the time.
Or at the end of the night, she would only plump up those cushions on the sofa that she sat on, leaving the other side messy. It seems to me so petty and I'm not sure whether to have the chat or just say "f&£@ it", if you catch my drift.
We shall have to see. Don't want to dump it all on them at the same time.
Hello hello. It's this week I've got off :T:j:beer::j:T:j:j:j So happy!
I got paid Friday, I think I confused you! It's your payday tomorrow. Happy payday / money shuffle day :T:j:beer:
I think you've been more than fair with L2. Some people don't do subtlety, they need telling! My old uni housemate was like that. She was 7 yeare older than me and the other housemate but blimming hopeless and had no common sense. She was forever losing keys, her bank card, purse, leaving the fan heater on, leaving the front door open. Just hopeless! I managed living with her for a whole 9 months!

Many "eeks".
Date was ok, the guy was interesting, but a bit insecure. I liked him, and would want to try a couple more dates so that he relaxes, but have felt that he has cooled off. Not sure why.
He said that I'd met him on his ground because I wanted to keep him separate from where I live and my life there... Strange thing to say and think. Maybe he's had a bad experience and hence the insecurity and suspiciousness. A bit difficult. Good chat but no fireworks. Zero flirtatiousness, and not sure whether that's because he didn't feel any chemistry or because perhaps he's just a very matter of fact person. Difficult to tell.
I sent him a nice message after and he responded but I'm not sure!
At one point he also said "you are way too cool to be hanging out with the likes of me" - which is a bit worrying.
He was interesting, but either disinterested or insecure. Time will tell.
Back to the drawing board I guess.
Two new dates arranged for next two Wednesdays, so no panic.
Ena - I will need a little notebook soon to keep track of it all!!! But hey, I am "cultivating a mindset of abundance" - I believe there are plenty of men in the world and I need to find the right one.
But when things don't go so well, I naturally think about the ex. Was I too hasty?... Then I quickly distract myself - not a good idea to think like that.
Have a good afternoon and the rest of your hols x
Cheers Catriona
Oh dear, he does sound a bit insecure. Maybe he'll warm up a bit as time goes on. I suppose men can get as neurotic as women when it comes to dating, wondering, trying to work out whether they like you or not. It's hard! Never go back......he's an ex for a reason!Debt Apr 15 - £6895.44Apr 17 - £2500

Oh brilliant news about the uni fees, a good spend if ever there was!
I just don't get people's obsession with iPhon3s and @pple products generally. And especially queuing for days on end to get the first one. Same goes for the sales! All that pushing and shoving and people being di**s. I don't want a bargain that much! :rotfl:Debt Apr 15 - £6895.44Apr 17 - £2500

Blimey, they all sound a bit different. The Activist sounds like good fun. Enjoy all those vegetables :rotfl::D Surely a campervan is preferable to a tent? I'll take him if you don't want him!
They all sound good though, and hopefully something will develop. You're certainly getting out there which is brilliant. Bound to hook one soon :rotfl::T:)Debt Apr 15 - £6895.44Apr 17 - £2500

Hey hey,
Payday's been and gone! And we are that little bit closer to becoming debt free.
All great!
Lodgers are a bit of a burden and annoyance sometimes; it goes with the territory. But, I'm trying to get over it and think that it's not forever. So it's my day off today and apart from going to the gym and the bank to arrange a meeting with mortgage advisor next week , and seeing the builder, I also went for a run! Whoop whoop. Trying to use MyFitnessPal to bring my weight back down, as I'm almost a size 12, and that is really only constant overindulgence.* * * Catriona's Credit Card Countdown * * * from -£16k to debt neutraldom - for my debt diary click here
