Looking for a new built in gas double oven and would like to hear from anyone that has one in their kitchen (any make or model) and what they think of it. Good or bad points, it all helps in making a purchase.
Thanks

They are all the same, made by stoves, as far as I know there are no other manufacturers making a built in double gas oven any more (belling, stoves, new world are all the same plus a few others).
Customers generally have an average opinion of them, nobody raves about them and a few people dislike them, I've worked on several hundred of them as I worked for the company for 6 years.0 -
The only reason I am looking for gas is the quick reaction time to turning the temp down. I have never ever cooked with an electric oven, as I find gas easy to control.
Are the super duper modern electric ovens any better theses days? Have been converted to an induction hob from gas though, so things could be changing.
Opinions please.

I am a big fan of gas but there is no doubt it is not so clean as electricity - seems to build up more moisture in the air in some way. So I compromised and had a electric oven installed and a domino (mixed gas and electric) hob. I mostly use the gas rings I have to say. I originally had an electric fan assisted oven but took it out because I found the fan was affecting (negatively) cakes and pizzas etc. Looking at getting one of those mixed use ovens next.0

Hi
If you want control and quality cooking in an oven do not look at gas.
Think of it this way, the best appliance makes you can think of (Gaggenau, Miele, VZug, Siemens, Neff etc.) These all stopped making gas ovens years ago.
As you have mentioned you are having an induction hob because its better than gas and decent electric ovens are far superior to gas ones as well.

If you are merely on about the built in ovens I take your point but there are many freestanding cookers that have fantastic gas ovens.
The makes you mention aren't the "best" either they are good mass market brands, they aren't even the deposit though on the price of some of the brands I have worked on/with.0 -

Go on then? What super-expensive brands have you worked with that were so good? We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

There's a whole world of brands out there that many won't have heard of because they are so low volume0 -
Of course but the point still is that its still arguable if food cooked in an 80k La Cornue is any better than that cooked in a 2.5k Miele/Gaggenau etc and stuff from Neff/Siemens wont be far behind.
And I very much doubt if anyone with budgets for Viking, Lacanche or La Cornue are going to be here looking for advise. We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
