Is your Windows 8 installation up to date?

Do you get the same problem downloading and installing other programmes say Ccleaner.

Its a new laptop Asus brought last November had nothing but trouble since I got it with Norton, not downloaded much else, RoboForm etc.

The other thing you could try is Norton Power Eraser, assuming you can run it.

In which case, and get other views if you want, I would perform a system refresh, it will take the computer back to the initial Windows 8 set up.

From start screen swipe in from right click settings, then change PC settings, scroll down to find system refresh.
That gum you like is coming back in style.

Should I just do system refresh? What gets wiped? Not really got much on here yet, does it take long? Or should I wait until my LL comes next Tuesday, if he's got time to sort it..... or take it back to Currys who want to charge me £49 to do the registry..... I suppose I could reinstall Norton! or could I?
