My kitten can't eat with her lampshade :(

I have never had a collar of shame even offered to me when collecting a cat from the vet after spaying.
Stop worrying, take it off, feed the cat. Stop her if she worries at the stitches too much, but I think they're really something to make the owners feel they're getting their money's worth than actually doing anything useful. TBH, I suspect the vet practice has sussed that you're easily manipulated and a little bit emotional where the cat is concerned.
She will be fine without the collar. She won't fall over dead (but she could have liver failure if you don't man up and take the collar off and feed her properly) without it and you won't break her by doing it.
And enjoy the fact you won't have a miserable wailing cat spraying the pace and making everything stink of unneutered female cat wee. It's worse than tom cat, IMO.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
I have GOOD NEWS !!! The blue soft e-Collar just arrived around 5 minutes ago! Superfast shipping from the great eBay seller, only paid 2nd class postage too. Now the great news!
I sat Molly on my computer chair and pinned her with my legs (not easy) and managed to undue and take off the horrible plastic lampshade contraption. She was so happy and immediately started licking me, whilst she was unaware I shoved (gently) her head through the new e-collar and it was on, in less than a second. I then tied it whilst she figured out what I was doing and it was on and done and it looks quite good actually. Its excellent quality, soooo easy to get on and so much more comfortable for my baby. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be getting the other off and this new one on, I did it all by myself (I manned up LOL) and neither the Vet nor hubby had to help me (he's still at work)
So, my girl is now eating and is now wearing her new e-collar.
The kind posters of MSE helped me in my hour of need with my wee cat, thank you to you ALL xx0 -
Oh goodness me, hilarity surrounds me at the moment. Nash, my big (and I mean BIG) black male cat is terrified of Molly now with this blue e-collar on her head. She has found her energy since the lampshade change and she is chasing him, his fur is up, he doesn't like the look of her at all - terrified, his fur on all end, running away LOL I shouldn't laugh, they will settle down but its great to see my wee girl more mobile, full of energy and terrorizing the boys *giggle*
Little things please little minds eh. I am so pleased, the e-collar is awesome, I will even be able to bend it back at feed time. Solved ALL my problems. Vets really should use these, those horrible, ugly, hard plastic lampshades are cruelty to cats, truly.
I'm gonna post a picture of Molly with it on as soon as I can get her to keep still :rotfl:0
