    By question or by paper?

Do you do exam marking for an exam board? Might be a way to speed up your DFW mission...though maybe you don't need the extra stress?
  • I have really thought about it, the exam marking. It would help me with the marking and teaching etc. And of course the money would be great. But I tutoring two nights a week and am snowed under each day so in the end I decided it wasn't feasible.

Was cold all day, came in went to bed to warm up and only woke about an hour ago. I should be cleaning out the piggies wigs. *yawns*

I finished the exams this morning. I dont really think I marked them very well but the kids were happy this afternoon and the grades came out ok. Just not sure how.

    My three things tonight,

    1. clean out stinky piggies.
    2. rearrange mess (!) to get to my desk.
    3. mark.

(one extra - sort out a handbag. mine is driving me a bit nuts.)
right. guess I had better get started.
    Nevertheless she persisted.

They probably did ok because you work hard and are good at your job. The bad teachers are the ones that dont care.

Having met Buffy in person a number of times, I would be very happy to let her teach my kids, and there is no higher praise really.

The teaching profession really needs people like you Buffy, and they should be bending over backwards to hang on to you, not driving you away with silly politics and excessive admin.

I swear I DO NOT know what I would do without this site.

well I did my handbag spoke to the man, cleaned out the cage - it looks fab, am so pleased with it. they are happy I think.

I did rearrange the mess, much better now. Can go away for the weekend without being totally disgusted with the state of the room!

Didn't get to the marking. May do it in the morning. At the moment (and this is going to sound weird) I needed the bag sorted! constant quest for the perfect bag...........No, it is more peace of mind that I have keys etc

take care all and really thank you xxx

    Hi Buffy.
I read your opening post, and skipped to the end as i just wanted to say hi :)
I have had depression on and off since my teens (i am now 33), and i know how demoralizing and exhausting it can be.
Make sure you are kind to yourself.

Do you have psychotherapy (counselling)? What did you decide about the ADs?

Sorry about the delay in replying - I was very touched you posted, I was offered counselling - well to go on a waiting list. I am so stubborn tho I am not sure I'd admit anything!

I shall be doctor bound next week. will ask then. thanks xx

    best go to bed.

    see you all tomorrow xxxxxxxx

    .Hello Buffy my old mate

Just popped on for the first time in ages... - I couldn't read and run....reminds me of where I was at when my first thread was started on MSE...

So sorry to hear you;re not feeling so good but you keep hanging on in there girlie ! You;re a great person - having a hard time of it at the moment. :grouphug::grouphug:

If you are going to the GP - please get a full blood work up to include thyroid (TSH, T3 AND very importantly, T4), prolactin and oestrogen......From my own expereince, I can confirm that those little monsters (esp T4) have a lot to answer for in respect of how you might be feeling at the moment.

You are already achieving far more than "3 a day" on a daily basis. You get up, you go to work, you plan, you teach, you mark........and after all that, you set yourself more tasks for when you get home.....By all means use that to motivate yourself....but don;t be too hard if you don;t achieve them all. (But it was good that you got the handbag done ;))

I recently clocked what you wrote on Taxi's thread - your eloquence, perception and empathy blew me away....You are just so such more of a person than how your job defines you.....(or perhaps how you see yourself at the moment?)

I still have days where all I do is (a) stay in bed reading a book and (b) feed the piggies..... but have other days where I feel much more productive!

As Beanie would say - keep plodding!

Happy to talk - you know how to contact me....

    Much love Hun
    xxxx

(Glad to hear the piggie wigs are OK - my rampant single boars send stinks and rudeness to your girlies  ).
