You, sir, are a wise man.

Yeah, Percy is da man....the way he turned a 24K debt into a house buying position in just 3 years was amazing.
And all that without getting bailouts from girlfriend and mum, I have to add. ;)

Are there currently any 100% mortgages apart from the one where someones parents have to use their own house as a guarantee for their children?

lets wait and see if they come back to see if they have learned.

It seems the only way this country knows how to create wealth tho is property turnover, government after government always works to boost house sales. But they never seem to get enough properties on the market to rent especially council houses. As well as improving rent regulation like how they are in europe where tenants have very good rights.

Near bankrupt governments, that couldn't afford to raise funds to keep the country afloat conventionally, happily sold cheaply, under the RTB schemes. Then effectively allowed those assets to be mortgaged by individuals, without prudent regulation, on more than one occasion.

That together with HPI that allowed further mortgaging, of non RTB property, to release money and swell the coffers.

Basically pushing the debt onto individuals whilst they munched away on consumption to give the impression of a booming economy.

Now those those assets are mortgaged to a greater or lesser extent and individuals are saddled with debt, even at low interest rates, there is little left to once again pump up the economy.

We are now in the position where the country doesn't have any money and fewer assets and the easily led don't have any either.

At the same time wages are falling, commodities are going up and freely disposable income is dropping so even with gizillions of extra dosh on tap take up is low.

Government don't have the money to invest and private landlords aren't going to do it without a real meaningful return.

Those with wealth and those sat on locked in HPI aren't playing ball .

Why are many of bullish persuasion so untrusting ?

The only thing they seem to believe is their own bull.

They remind me of many politicians in some ways, detached from reality, and only caring about lining their own pockets.

    They aint.

If Hamish says he got help from his parents, its ok, a wise move, something which parents do.

If anyone they don't particularly like says the same, they will use the same thing to constantly have a go at them.

Someone is extremely bitter....and that's generally the one throwing the abuse.

    What are you on about?
Percy himself stated he was up to his eyeballs in debt, his 'masterplan' being to transfer the debt on his fiancee's name on low interest cards because his credit rating was down the drain.

And whatever masterplan he had, it worked and he achieved his goals.

Sounds like he has a bloody nice partner too.

Yes, he's done well. He really should be proud of his actions. :)
