The 'Green Deal' Q's

So,

This 'Green Deal';

What are the facts?
What do I have to do?
How much does it cost me?
Who would I have to contact?
How long does it last?

There's a million other questions I have but not enough time to post it, so any help would be very much appreciated :)

Thanks in advance.

    Also, I'm fairly sure this is in the wrong place but couldn't find where to put it.

    It's not a subsidy. You pay back the full cost of everything via your future power bills, plus a hefty 6.9% interest rate.
    No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

    I heard about the interest rate on the 5 Live show with Martin Lewis. He says it's a good deal just complex.

    Does anyone else on here think it's a good deal? If not, why? Is it good for people who can't get normal loans or credit?

    Beware the scammers and cowboys who will now try to sell you their overpriced double glazing and solar panels by starting every sentence with, green deal.
    That gum you like is coming back in style.

    Not 'good'. But in such cases it may be the only alternative. Bear in mind that if you are thinking of selling your property in the next 10 years then the vendor has to transfer the loan to the new owner, so I suspect that will not be attractive to many buyers.
    First thing to do is establish if the property will qualify, which means you'll have to pay out for the initial energy assessment even if it doesn't. And you can't pick and chose the measures you want.
    You don't say what you wish to upgrade?
