  • Jo can I whisper something - just between me and you. You know I've been complaining about the ever increasing waistline - well there's a reason - and its not giving up smoking ........ you've guessed haven't you???

I'm pregnant - a bit shocked, scared, excited - totally unexpected - on the pill (haven't missed any, haven't had antibiotics, nor an upset stomach). I'm 43 already have 4 children, eldest will be 20 in November, youngest 5!!! Think I'm quite away along as well, off to the drs in a few minutes to confirm and book scan etc! I can only blame my stopping smoking has given my eggs a new lease of life - perhaps we should be warned that giving up smoking can make you more fertile - lol. Catch up later.

OMG CONGRATULATIONS!! That's fantastic news :D

Don't worry about your age or how many kids you've got, my mum was in her 40's when I was born (and I'm an only child, they tried for 19 years!) and we're like best mates and talk on the phone at least twice a day! Plus you've so much experience it'll be a breeze (either that or get the older kids to do all the work like I do! Not really ;))

I'm SO pleased for you and hope the next 8+ months go smoothly :)

    SO jealous!

on the pill (haven't missed any, haven't had antibiotics, nor an upset stomach

Forgot to say, I was on the pill when I had DD1 when I was 19, took it religiously, then she was born at 30 weeks by emergency section and was very ill and spent 4 months in hospital. She was so meant to be on this earth :rotfl:

Scary times but makes you realise the important things. Plus you don't have to worry about giving up smoking now!!

Have you told the kids yet?
