Help please, Ebay account in jeopardy

Hi guys,
i need help please.
i purchased 4 items off a seller (at 99p each postage was set at 43p for each items. the seller in the listing stated that if buying multiple items, postage would be combined. after buying, i waited for the invoice which i got in about 20 minutes and paid immediately it came. i was charged £3.96 i assumed the seller waived the delivery cost. (this happened before 10am on friday) 5 hours later i got an email from the seller saying the system had an error and didnt charge me for postage so they wouldnt send the items till i paid the delivery, and it was £1.72. i replied saying okay, thats fine but i thought the delivery would be cheaper than £1.72 since it would be combined.
they replied saying if a seller agrees to combine postage doesnt mean it will be cheaper( im confused because all the time i have bought items and postage was combined, it was always cheaper than paying postage individually). to avoid any issues, i replied telling the seller, it was fine, they should please send an invoice for £1.72 so i could pay. the seller replied saying they couldnt do it! at this point i was fed up and i told the seller to please cancel the transaction and refund the £3.96 as i was tired of going back and forth. the seller replied saying okay.
i decided to buy my items off a different seller. i checked my paypal account and saw the seller had refunded. how ever, i just got 4 messages from ebay, the seller had opened a case against me for unpaid items. this is the email i received:

Phone customer support and explain that you paid.
Seller just wants their final value fees back from ebay.
If you want to be vindictive, you could also open a non-performing seller report on the basis that you paid but seller did not send the goods.
Even if the worst was to happen, you won't lose your account over 1 NPB strike, although it could make future purchases difficult if you already have any strikes. Hope that reassures you! But you should be able to get it sorted with customer services. They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0 -
Thank you so much. I'm going to call them up now. I've never had a strike, as I always pay immediately I purchase or immediately I'm sent the payment invoice.T h e F u t u r e I s N o w !0

I've contacted customer services and they weren't much help, said to contact the seller and ask them to change the case to cancelled transaction. Obviously this seller is a horrible individual who would try to make some other person look bad just to get a few pennies. I'll send them a message and if they decide not to be sensible, then I'll def be opening a non performing seller case.T h e F u t u r e I s N o w !0

Wish i knew how the seller did this.
Its usually impossible to open a claim for none payment when payment as been made and refunded.
As for complaining about £1.72 postage - really????0 -

Not necessarily, the seller may have done a NPB to get the listing fees back off eBay. Just do as eBay advised and see what happens.0 -
i have emailed the seller and this is the response i got back
Dear *******,
Hi,I am sorry it was mistake,I though was another customer.Ebay send a emails and we as sellers have to open a case to get our final fees which ebay take from us as a seller when you buy it.It would not effect you ar all due they can see you have received refund, just close it.
Thank you

i have replied saying there is no option to close it, this is just getting very annoying. the seller in one mine is claiming ignorance saying its a mistake and the next line is talking about FVF. gosh!
i just remmebered when i asked for the seller to send an invoice so i could pay for the postage, he/she replied saying saying they couldnt, but rather i should buy just 2 of the items instead of the 4 i paid for and they would refund the difference. seems like this person is very manipulative and listing what they didnt have available!T h e F u t u r e I s N o w !0 -
Is this a business seller, if so I would pay and then request an immediate return under DSRs. Or just pay and get the items and reflect your experience in feedback.
Meanwhile I would be harrassing ebay every hour on the hour to stop those NPBs on the basis you have paid.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Yes, he/she is registered as a business seller. unfortunately i already purchased the items off a different seller, before these cases came up. its amazing that ebay would let any criminal manipulate others on there, when they can see i obviously paid.T h e F u t u r e I s N o w !0 -
To be honest, I think you're making some rather large and unwarranted assumptions about the seller.0

Hi guys,

This is where your problem began and someone cynical might assume you hoped they wouldn't noticed rather than assume it was good will (considering they are 4 99p items).
It's surprising the seller can open a non payment dispute as the system simply doesn't allow this if payment is made via Paypal through eBay Checkout, even when the system screws up and doesn't fully complete leaving the order showing as unpaid I've not been able to open a dispute (as thus finding out I was actually paid). In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces0
