I spent £7.50 on bottled still water (6 for £1 was cheapest I could see) plus 2 boxes of cereal bars and a bone for our dog. This was because we had a day of outdoor activities. I did save money on our 'eating out' budget though as it was supposed to be £3 a head but I shared with my children.
I'd really like to not spend any money on groceries until Tues/Weds now. I know my initial target of £200 is more than doable but I'd like to come in closer to £150, fingers crossed. All meals planned for this week and not much needed, and plenty in the freezer to plan next week's meals as well.0 -
Morning everyone. Only just been able to look at the computer screen today - I think I've picked up a bit of a bug as I really don't feel well and I've not been drinking. Now I've had a bit of toast and spent the majority of the morning so far dozing I feel a bit better. That does mean today will definitely be a no spend day. We've got everything in for tonight's roast dinner, and I'll not be going out if I can help it.
Tomorrow is my big shop day so there'll be more to report then. Meal plan is done, as is the shopping list.
Have a good Sunday, everyone.

Hi folks, sorry if this has been discussed already but I haven't been able to keep up with the thread over the last week or so.... But have any tesco shoppers noticed that several Value products have been unavailable recently? Particularly pancakes, tuna, & I can't remember what else. Just worried that they have gone for good.....1% at a time no. 40. £8000 (For dream family holiday) 94/100

Another £4.26 in Lidl today to finalise my shopping for next week. Only spent £15.62 this week - just shows me what I can do when I am actually watching what I am doing.0

I noticed that some items became unavailable for a while, as they were changing the packaging to make it 'less basic'. I only really buy tuna, noodles, kitchen towel and occasionally biscuits and these are all still in my local store, although it's a large Extra store. HTH.
Spent £65 odd in T's last night. Large 3kg bag of pasta, plus a gammon joint, pork shoulder and chicken breast. Lots of F&V too as only a lemon, onion and bulb of garlic in the fridgeGot a £5 off wys £40 voucher, to be used this week. Won't be needing that, so will gift to a friend
Had moussaka for dinner last night (from the recipe index). Used sliced potatoes instead of aubergine. The jury is still outRoast chicken, roasties, cabbage, leeks and cauliflower cheese for dinner today. Have also made a pineapple upside down cake using a value sponge mix which was going ood next month
Have a good Sunday everyone

Asked OH to pop in and get milk on his way home yesterday. He also picked up 2 fresh bread rolls for 18p and RTC chocolate croissants which were still a bit more than I'd have paid, but they were nice and I can't complain he was trying to do something nice. So we're now up to just over £150, but my month ends when the online shop for the next month is delivered and that's going to be on Thursday now so I should be ok for meeting target.0

Well, despite me thinking I was done we have now gone over by £40. I am not too disappointed as £190 for four of us is still great and I was planning on raising our budget for April (19th to the 18th of April) anyway.
I have gone through the remains of our veg box. I have lost track due to being so busy at work, so we have lots of leeks, beetroot, swede and carrots. We also have some other bits. So I have peeled and prepped everything and meal planned:
Sun: swede, Parmesan and garlic bake (dauphinois type dish), carrot salad and avocado
Mon: leek and pasta bake
Tues: DS's birthday so spaghetti bolognese, chop salad, fruit crumble and cream
Weds: stir fry (maybe Singapore noodles)
Thurs: new veg box so will plan again.
I have a code for £12 off a £60 online shop with Sains if you are a new customer. I am already a customer so I think I would have to create an account in OH's name?Grocery Challenge (2 adults 2 kids)
