Hi everyone, went to the market in town just now and spent £12 but got:
1.2kg of pork belly - I am doing slow cooked and pressed pork belly for our guests on Sunday
a footlong pack of sausage meat for sausage rolls
savoy and red cabbages
broccoli
mushrooms
5 limes (also making key lime pie!)
so don't think that's too bad, but also need to go to Ald1 tonight for rest of the things we'll need including beer and nibbles which always bump the total up
will update sig tonight when I can see what the full damage is.....0 -
6 NSD in a row but this is not really due to us being very :money:but more due to us all having this rotten flu bug that we cannot shake off. Meal plans have completely gone by the wayside as we have only just started to eat a little and at some point today I must go and check through the fridge and freeze what ever needs freezing. Have already just thrown what was left of a roast chicken into a freezer bag and froze and will possibly make a pie with it when up to it. Also a large ball of pastry has been frozen as didnt get used. I know that a large box of mushrooms need using soon so am going to have some of those for tea tonight with maybe an egg. Dont really want them but know that we need to eat something.
Hope everyone else is well and sticking to their challenge.MARCH £62.38/2500 -

Get better soon to all the poorlies out there :grouphug:
Went to donate blood at lunchtime and popped into MrT's for the milk and veg we needed. Just a £3.79 spent on 4 pints ss, mini corn and mini courgettes.
Nurse said I need more iron in my diet as the test droplet didn't sink very fast. I do have low blood pressure (always have done) so that is a factor. Don't really want to take iron tablets due to the side effectsWhat can I eat that I don't already? I do have green veg 6 days out of 7. Can't bear dark chocolate. Any ideas folks?

Worked out my food plan for next week and shopped for the majority of it at Asda - spent £11.36. Still have to get a few bits from Lidl on Sunday and that should be us sorted for next week.
Eating mostly vegetarian next week to keep prices down - HM Pizza, Pasta Arabiatta, HM Quiche, Cheesy beanos and having a Tesco Steak Dianne bought with vouchers last week. Lunches will be baked potatoes with various fillings for the first few days of the week and then sandwiches for the rest of the week.0 -

When I was pregnant with my second child, I had low iron and like you, didn't want to use the tablets because of the side effects. It was summer and I ate a lot of spinach, dried apricots and pine nut salads - so be sure to up your dried fruit in take too Coxy************************************************************
